Week in Review Oct. 14th-2018

We met Carrie and Zach's cute family at the park last Sunday, it's been so beautiful outside. The kids loved being able to be outside again....

Lilly is getting so big, she's so cute!
This week was fall break for the kids so we played with Carrie the first part of the week and then went to San Diego for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Here we are at the mall on Thursday night before dinner...
Watching General Conference last Sunday...

Look at those big beautiful eyes!
Such a cute family!

One day we went to the rock wall...

We went to a splash pad with Carrie on Tuesday, Ethan loved the splash pad...

Abby was a good helper with Austin..

She also got to have a playdate with Lexi...

Loved being at the beach again...

Ricks parents met us in San Diego...

Abby loves the ocean!

One night we had dinner at PF Changs...it was a long wait and we didn't end up eating until 7:30, way past my bedtime!

Ashlyn found this tiny little sand dollar, so cute!

Rick and his mom boogie boarding...

Rick, Grandma J, Jacob and Ashlyn...
It was a great week, Ashlyn and I got pulled into a riptide and almost got pushed into the pier. It was pretty scary but luckily we were able to catch a wave out to the beach. We are grateful for this beautiful world that we live in. We sure love San Diego!

We were able to go walk around the San Diego Temple before we left, it's so gorgeous sitting right off the freeway. I love it!

We had our first primary program practice today and it went really well! Abby even talked in the microphone!! Praying that she will do that for the real program, I almost started crying!!

Week in Review Oct. 7, 2018

I guess one of the kids took a pic of me while we were going on a walk through the neighborhood...
Abby with her kindergarten friends walking to the Kindergarten playground...
Jacob was Marcos de Niza for the wax museum, he was a monk. Jacob isn't big into dressing up, but he did a great job presenting...

The kids had twin day at school on Friday, jacob matched with his friend but wouldn't let me take a pic. Abby twinned with her good friend at school McKinley. They both wore purple shirts and black pants, they held hands throughout the day. So cute!

McKinley's mom is another aide at the school, so they both get to see us throughout the week.

I subbed everyday last week, and I love getting to see Abby at lunchtime with her friends. They're all so cute!! The little boy in the picture is Abby's good friend Oliver, he's the grand son of a 1st grade teacher at the school. He's so cute! I love Kindergartners!

Abby got to be Queen of the day at school last week. I was worried that she wouldn't participate, but her aide told me she did everything and she even wore the crown into the lunchroom!! All of the kids interview her and then they draw pictures and write a note to her, then she comes home with a cute book from all of her classmates. It's adorable. I'm so proud of her, she growing up!

Watching conference with kids, we have to get a little creative. I set up a little drawing center for Abby.
I moved the comfy chair over, so we could all be comfy:)
It was a great conference with lots of great talks. The conference started with the huge announcement that church will now be only 2 hours! 60 minutes of Sacrament, 10 min break and then 50 minutes of class where SS rotates with RS/YM/YW/EQ each week. Primary is every week. Primary will be 5 min of opening exercises, 20 min of singing and then 25 min of class time. I'm very excited because the new curriculum is home based learning. Every family will receive a study guide for the year, where we will study together as a family and then come together and discuss in our classes. I'm excited for this inspired change. 12 temples were also announced, it's an exciting time to be a part of the gospel.

Week in Review...Sept 30, 2018

Ashlyn has become my little baker. Every Sunday she wants to make a new treat...

Haley with her friends...
Abby in her Elsa costume...
Haley took a pic with the Laurels in our ward...

We got Ricks car back on Monday, and they let us know that it would need new tires, new brakes and a new radiator:) That's the best news after you spend a lot of money on a fix, haha. But we are grateful to have it back and running again.

Abby had a rash on Wednesday night and by Thursday morning it finally clicked in my brain that she had hives and that she'd had hives the last time that she had been on Amoxicillin. So I took her to the dr and they wanted to give her a steroid to drink, but she didn't want to drink it and opted for the shot. The steroid shot is a tough shot and she was so upset. She refused to cry in the dr.'s office though, because that would bring attention to her. As soon as we got out of the office, she burst into tears. Poor girl! The dr's office gave her a coupon for a free cookie at a bakery a couple doors down, and they have humongous cookies so that helped to cheer her up. I now have 2 kids that are allergic to penicillin meds, as well as Rick. She still had an ear infection, so we got a new med to finish her up.

Week in Review...Sept 23, 2018

This week was a tough one! Rick's car had problems steering when Haley drove it home from Stake Conference last Sunday, when Rick poured in power steering fluid it leaked right out. We had it towed to the shop on Monday night and still don't have it back, so I've been driving Rick to and from work. Abby has been sick all week with a double ear infection and a bad cough. Poor girl! She missed 4 days of school and even missed her first field trip. We are hoping to get Rick's car back tomorrow, and I will shout hallelujah not to have to drive so much anymore. One happy thing that happened this week was that Haley went to her first Homecoming dance. She had fun with her friends...

Rick had an actor show up at his work to take a tour with his friend, he's in some Disney shows...

While Abby has been sick, she's been living in her Elsa dress. Too funny!

Hoping for a much better week!
