Week in Review...New Years!

 Jacob got a recognition award at school! His JROTC major submitted him for displaying courage, respect and influence. He got to go to the office and pick a gift card, he got a free in n out burger! So proud of Jacob! Today he was ordained to be a Priest by his Dad, it was a beautiful ordination. Jacob is a very hard working young man, and i'm so grateful that he is making good choices as he grows up.

We got lots of lemons from our neighbor so I made a lemon meringue pie, my meringue failed but I was able to salvage it a bit. Rick said it was definitely not a fail, haha! He loved it!

I got rollerblades for Christmas and Abby and I have been rollerblading! I haven't fallen yet, which is good because it's tough to stay up!

We are getting $6000 for our totalled honda civic, so after spending all week at dumb dealerships and not finding a great car without a ton of added on fees we found a car at Carvana! It's a car vending machine! Best car buying experience ever! 100% online, you show up and drive away. You have 7 days to drive it and if you don't like it you can return it no questions asked! So far we love it though! 2016 Ford Focus, drives like it's new 48800 miles and gets 40 mpg on the freeway!

I was supposed to fly out to go and visit my parents this week, it was my present from Rick. I got up at 4am on Thursday morning, we got to the airport in perfect time-got through TSA super fast and all of us were on the plane and boarded by 5:55, my flight wasn't supposed to leave until 6:10. A few minutes later we were told that the flight was cancelled because the engine needed a part that needed to be flown in. The next available flight out was on Sunday, when i was supposed to be returning home. I was crying on the plane, it was like a nightmare. I called Rick who had just gotten home, to come back and get me. Sarah was so sweet and sent me this Cinnamon roll to cheer me up!

She also sent me this cute ornament! So thoughtful!

It was a crazy week, Rick's Honda Civic had rodents eat his clutch wire to his AC compressor and they quoted us $1700 to repair it. We submitted a claim through Geico to see if they'll fix it and we will pay our deductible of $1000, hoping that works! We need AC in Arizona.
