Week in Review...

Last Sunday we took a drive and found this cool old replica of a Ponderosa house from the T.V. show Bonanza. It was pretty cool to see and then right next door was a Tiki house!

Rick got a gift card to Baskin Robbins from a coworker and so we took the kids out for ice cream last night.

Tuesday was the 4th of July and we went swimming, had a BBQ and set off our own fireworks. We were able to see a few shows from our house as well. Abby was in love with the sparklers and the fireworks, she had no fear of them at all.

Ashlyn used to be terrified of sparklers, so she was very concerned about Abby. She was a good little helper with her...

One of my really good friends here, also lived in the same neighborhood that we lived in up in Utah. She moved in right after we moved out and then she moved into our neighborhood here. I don't believe it was a coincidence because her 3 year old daughter has been a huge help to Abby in overcoming her shyness at church. Her mother runs with me and she's going to be Abby's preschool teacher in the fall. We feel very blessed by their friendship, anyway she took a trip up to Bear Lake and stopped in our old neighborhood to visit some friends. I told her to take a pic of my old house for me.....it looks pretty run down! So sad! Still has the same shutters that we built and the stars are still on them! hahaha!
While they were in Utah, they allowed us to use their pool. We were so spoiled, now we really wish we had a pool!

Ashlyns volleyball team has won every game they've played and they're headed to the championships next week! We are excited for her!
Here are some videos from the week...Abby's becoming quite the little daredevil in the pool.

Week in Review...

I'm trying to sell our bunny, but having no luck. I think if we could keep him outside it wouldn't be a problem. But he's stinking up my house!! argh!! Haley loves to have Lucky and Thumper play together. Lucky is such a sweetheart and just lets Thumper sniff her.

Apparently they thought it would be fun to take Thumper on a stroller ride...

I got the kids new swim goggles for swim team and Abby wanted a pair too. She's a little fish! She's getting really good at swimming too, she's so cute!

Rick and I had the opportunity to go to the Mesa Temple on Friday afternoon to do some work for some family names and that was wonderful. We went to a little Denny's Diner after for some dinner, then we went home and went swimming. About a 1/2 hour after starting our swim Rick started feeling sick so I rushed him home. A couple of hours later, I was sick! Argh!! Food poisoning!! Neither one of us started feeling better until about Saturday late afternoon. We can't quite figure out what it was that got us both sick, we both had sausage and hash browns. Makes me not want to eat at Denny's for awhile. So glad that we didn't take the whole family!

Week in Review...

The kids had a party while I was gone one night this week, they played in the sprinklers and played volleyball in the backyard. You have to be wet to be outside:)

Rick took Jacob kayaking on Saturday morning and they found lots of rocks to jump off of...

We tried cooking an egg on the sidewalk on the day that it was supposed to hit 122, it just melted though and didn't cook. It probably would've worked if we had put it on a metal pan...

Last Sunday it was Fathers Day, and I shared this pic of me and my dad. It's one of my favorites...
We were sitting on the back patio a few nights ago and Ashlyn is looking at the sky and suddenly her eyes got really wide. She says, there's an owl!!! An owl had flown onto our neighbors roof. We were so excited!! It sat there for about 10 minutes and it would swivel it's head to look at us, it was super cool!!

I got to meet up with one of my old roommates from Ricks College that I haven't seen in 17 years! It's crazy to think that it's been that long, it didn't feel like any time had passed at all. She's living in Georgia and it was so fun to reminisce.

Week in Review...

I saw this pillow on Facebook and thought it would be fun to the girls. I didn't realize that Abby would completely love it and spend hours playing with it! It really is so fun and relaxing.

Rick had Wednesday off since he had to work on Saturday this week, so he took Jacob kayaking.
If you look closely you can see a hawk on the rock with its wings outstretched. That's pretty cool!

The residents made these cute treats for the fathers that work at Courtyard Towers.

On Tuesday we went and saw Darwyn and swam in her new community pool. It was freezing!! They have the whole pool shaded, which is nice to be out of the sun but it also keeps the pool super cold. We only lasted a few minutes and then we switched over to the splash pad.
Ashlyn started volleyball a few weeks ago and loves it!

I went to check on Abby last night after putting her to bed and I found her snuggled up with her baby doll! It just melted my heart!! She just loves her baby dolls!
Today is Fathers Day and it's been a rough one! Yesterday Rick was at work and went to go potty in urinal and housekeeping had thrown a cleaning agent into the urinal and not wiped it down. So when Rick went potty, it activated the powder and was thrown into his face. He had a really bad sore throat yesterday and it kept getting worse. He had trouble breathing through the night, so I took him into the ER this morning. The ER said that there isn't much they can do for inhalation, it just has to heal on its own and it can take a week or more. They gave him a breathing treatment and a pain med and sent him home. He still has a lot of pain in his lungs, but hopefully it will ease up soon. Then I had to teach RS and I was really flustered and emotional, but I got a lot of compliments and people said that they could feel the spirit, so hopefully I did OK. Even with a rough start, we tried to spoil Rick. He got a huge cut in one of his kayaks, so we got him a new one for Fathers Day! Such a lucky guy! He also got ribs and mashed potatoes for dinner, and cute cards from the kids...we sure love him!
And of course my amazing daddy-o! What would I do without this guy? He is my biggest supporter and has the best laugh around! I just love that he is my dad, he is a spiritual giant and an amazing public speaker. I could listen to his stories all day. I'm grateful to be his daughter! Happy Fathers Day!

Week in Review...

This week Haley got to go to the Stay at Home EFY in Mesa. She had a blast! Here she is on her first day with her cute counselor and the girls in her company.
We went swimming on Monday night for FHE, and Abby always gets cold really fast, so we end up watching the kids from the sidelines.

She learned how to swim, we are so excited for her! She hardly ever wears her life jacket anymore, and has a really strong kick!

Here she is with her swimming teacher Parker, he's Haleys age and lives around the block from us. He was very patient with Abby, because she cried the whole time during every lesson! He would take her from my arms and hold her over to the pool, he was really sweet with her!
Jacob got to go to Day Camp this week! It was 3 days of exhaustion for me! Oh wait, I mean it was really fun for him! haha! He didn't get home until close to 11 pm each night, so that's why it was exhausting for me, I need my sleep! haha! He had a blast though!

It was another busy week! I started 3 more classes for the semester, so I've been busy with school and shuttling the kids places:) Summertime fun has begun!
