Week in Review...

Ashlyn had her Eval show on saturday, they perform their show in front of judges and they receive feedback and then they perform again with the feedback. It was an all day event, and she was exhausted and then came home and got ready for winter formal!

They've really grown a lot this year! I think they had 8 girls last year and this year they have 16! I'm excited to see the show!

Ashlyn went with her 2 best friends Maddie and Emilie...they had dinner at our house and then went to the dance, then to Emilie's house for dessert. Ashlyn was exhausted but said she had fun!

They're such sweet, beautiful girls! I'm so glad that they had fun.

Abby drew this on my t.v. in my classroom, it was so cute!

She drew this in my neighbors classroom...

It's been sooooo cold here! I've been having to scrape ice off my windshield and we don't have an ice scraper! I finally caved after freezing my hands off and bought one off of amazon! Of course when it came, it stopped freezing! haha! But I think we are going to get more freezing weather, so I'm now prepared!

Jacob blessed the sacrament for the first time last week and this week he was able to bless it again. He also gave a talk in sacrament where he talked about answers to prayers. I reminded him about all of the times that he's received an answer to prayer. He even made up a song when he was younger about how he had prayed for his Uncle Ronnie during the Boston marathon that he would be found safe, and that he had been sleeping in his hotel while we had been praying for him. He thought that was cool, I wish I could find that video. We have prayed for lots of family members and seen miracles. He went camping with the young men on Friday night and it was freezing outside, some of the boys didn't bring enough layers (teenagers) so they finally gave up trying to sleep around 3 am and started building a fire to warm up. Bishop led a discussion today about how we can help our youth build their own testimonies. He talked about the campout that he had been on with the young men. At the end of the camp out they had a "reflection" time where they tried to find parallels between the gospel and their campout. One boy said that as he was building the fire, he felt so warm and bright and then when he would walk away from the fire he would be cold again. He said that was like his testimony, sometimes it was huge and bright and other times he wasn't sure if he had one at all. Jacob said that our testimonies are like the fire, we have to keep feeding it to keep it warm and bright, if we stop feeding it it will die and go out.
We have to fight for our testimonies, we have to keep feeding it and growing it. We have to know for ourselves, this is the key.
