Week in Review...

Abby loves playing with the family across the street, and usually ends up playing with their youngest who is 5. They get super creative together, yesterday they built this huge fort in their back yard! They played it in for hours!
This was a vanity that someone was giving away for free in our neighborhood, Ashlyn was using it but she needed something with real drawers. I got a desk for her and just transferred the mirror over to the desk. I wanted to give new life to this tired old piece, so here's what I did. I'm thinking I might add another element to it, but I'll see if I have energy to do it.

It's amazing what some paint and a good cleaning can do! It felt good to make something pretty again, it's been too long! I have some pieces in my classroom that I want to give a new life to, but that will probably have to wait for the summer time.
Ashlyn performed in the Veteran's Day parade again and we went to go watch! It's always such a fun experience, celebrating Veteran's. They had planes flying over, doing tricks and lots of cool cars, tanks and even helicopters! There was a lady named Rosie who had put rivets on airplanes! It was very cool to celebrate people who had served for our country.

Abby got to go with the Activity Days group to Feed my Starving Children, where they packaged up meals for children across the world. She had a great time!

One day I was driving and I noticed a rainbow in the clouds!

Ashlyn also got to go to Feed my Starving Children this week with Emilie! They went to Bahama Bucks afterward!

Ashlyn and Abby were able to go back to school this week, luckily they were both feeling better. Last weekend I was able to go to a RS conference and we learned about praying for and expecting miracles in our lives. We had an amazing guest speaker come and tell us this miraculous story that was just incredible to hear. The amazing thing is that we all have miraculous stories to tell, if we look back at our lives there are so many miracles that have taken place. I have been counting my blessings for sure, grateful for every day that I get to live and breathe and be with my family. We are here for such a short amount of time, I'm grateful for all of it! Missing my extended family, but hoping I'll get to see at least my parents this summer. This summer it will be 2 years since I've seen them, and I hate when that much time goes by without seeing them. Rick's parents had their mission date moved up from March 6th to January 3rd, they're excited and ready to get started! We are excited to hear all about it!
