Rick and I had the awesome opportunity to travel to Cancun over fall break and celebrate our 20th anniversary, which was 2 years ago. It was well worth the wait! We had so much fun! We went snorkeling, zip lining, snorkeling in a cenote, drove atv's through the jungle, loved snorkeling so much that we did it again and spent lots of time at the beach, swimming in the ocean, looking for shells, exploring the resort, playing ping pong, getting lots of steps, swimming in the pools, etc. Ricks parents came to take care of the kids and they did something fun everyday too. It was a great week for all of us! We feel very blessed!
We saw this huge iguana on the tennis court, and it stayed there while we played! The water was this beautiful turquoise, it was unreal how beautiful it was! The sand was white and the shells were so thick and soft, it was just beautiful! The sea was so calm and warm, you could swim all over...
The food was not good, everything was pretty nasty so we ate lots of fruit...
This is where we ate breakfast each morning, looking out at the beautiful sea...
When we got home we went to the Celebrate Mesa festival at the park across the street, it was a good time as always...
Our room had a hot tub! You could sure get used to having a jetted tub!
We even worked out! Look at what we got to look at as we worked out...
My shell collection at the beginning...
My shell collection at the end...
Snorkeling was so much fun! We saw 3 sea turtles, barracudas, jelly fish and so many colorful neon fish, it was beautiful!
Look at the wild monkeys!
Rick loved speaking spanish to all of the hotel workers, they loved it! He got challenged by the teen leader to a ping pong tournament, he loved it!
We played mini-golf...
Got room service because the food was a little better...
Saw a mini version of chichen itza...
Ashlyn took Abby and Jacob ice skating, they had so much fun!
They also went bowling...
Ashlyn painted this at the Celebrate Mesa festival, so pretty!
They made cookies...
It was a great week!
This morning I felt impressed to fast for my extended family, I really hope that we can get together for a family reunion next summer. I just want everyone to be happy and feel loved and for me to be able to see everyone. It's really hard living so far away from everyone and feeling isolated from all of the family events, having a reunion to look forward to for next summer would mean so much to me. I really hope that we can make it work and that everyone can go and that we can all have a great time again like last time. Family means everything to me, it's the most important thing. Life is so fleeting, the days are long but the years go so fast.
