It was so much fun having Haley home for the weekend! It went by too quickly and we miss her already! She and Kevin got invited to do fireworks with Sarah and her family, so they had fun!
Tried to get a family pic on Sunday with Haley home...
Rick took the kids out for gelato on Saturday...
Before we dropped off Haley at the airport she wanted to come and see my classroom, which is still a work in progress...
I took the kids to go see Minions on Saturday, they got spoiled!
Ashlyn and Abby got their hair cuts for school! They look so cute! Abby cut off about 5 inches! It will be much easier to brush her hair now!
Ricks garage clicker melted in the heat of his car! This was a first!
We went to a neighbors house for fireworks on the 4th! It was quite the explosive show!
I taught Relief Society today on Following Jesus: Becoming a Peacemaker by Elder Neil L. Andersen. I haven't taught RS in about 9 years and I had a lot of nerves. I thought the lesson would end really early and we ended up having such a great discussion going that we only got about 1/2 way through the lesson. It was great to have so much participation and most of the questions that I asked weren't even prepared ahead of time. It was definitely the spirit helping me to move the discussion along. I loved the talk because he said that Jesus is our ultimate example of a peacemaker, he taught us by the way that he lived how we should be peacemakers. The adversary is so loud, and we often feel like we need to be just as loud to be heard. Pres. Bednar in a Face to Face event was asked,"how do we defend the church in a loving way?" Pres. Bednar actually said that we don't need to defend the church, the church can speak for itself. What is asked of us is to bear testimony, to share the gospel message and to serve and love each other. It was a really great lesson and of course I learned so much from it, I always end up learning so much more when I'm asked to teach.
