Week in Review..

Last week Haley went to her high school football game with her friends, she had a good time!
Last night after the womens conference we met up with a friend and had our traditional Frozen Yogurt, it was a good night. Loved Conference, the talks were inspiring and relevant.
Abby loves to point to Grandpa Hahn in this picture and say, "Who wants to play with Grandpa?" it was a cute song that dad would sing at Tahoe, she thought it was soooo funny!
We had some car troubles this week, the starter and the battery for Ricks car went bad. We had to get it towed to the repair shop and Abby was excited to watch the car go up on the ramp. She insisted that I take a picture.
Abby and Ashlyn have matching dresses and they were so cute at church today. Abby had to do a talk today and Rick was able to get her to sit up at the front by herself. I was impressed, but about 3 minutes later she started crying and calling for me. I walked out into the hall, hoping that would help her calm down. It didn't. Rick went up to help her with her talk and he had to hold her, but she did look out at the audience while Rick gave her talk, which was an improvement. Usually she'll hide her face in my shoulder. She has the primary program coming up, and I'm hoping that she will at least sit up with her class during it, I'm not sure that she will even do that though. High hopes!

After lots of anxious nights and praying, I've decided to take a break from school for now. I was getting a sick feeling in my stomach every time that I thought about student teaching next year and having Abby coming home from school to me not being home. As a student teacher you need to have full time hours set aside to lesson plan and work with the master teacher. It made me so sad to think that my little future kindergartner would be coming home and me not being here, especially with all of her nervous issues. Rick and I both feel like I should finish my certificate when Abby is a little bit older. I will hopefully work at her school next year as an aide or in some capacity, so that I can still help to bring in money but I want to be able to be home with my young family for a little bit longer. As if in answer to my prayers my school decided to double the observation hours that are required for each class, making it almost impossible for me to complete the requirements this year while Abby is home. So, I will finish up later when I'm ready. It just doesn't feel right to spend so much time away from her while she is so young. I'm grateful for a loving husband who understood my anxiety and supports my decisions.
In other news, I'm training for a half marathon which I never thought that I would ever do!! Doing a 10k about killed me, so I thought that I would never desire to run any farther than 6 miles. Well, never say never:) My running friend is running a half marathon in December and really wanted me to run it with her. I'm not a race runner, I don't enjoy running in races. Yet, I love to run. So I told her that I would train with her, one saturday during the training our run will actually be longer than a half marathon 13.5 miles! So I'm going to call that my half marathon day! Hopefully I can survive this!

  1. Cute dresses on the girls. I look up to you Lindsey for listening to the Spirit and doing what you know is right at this time for you and your family. It is so hard making decisions sometimes. You will be a great teacher when the time comes. For now enjoy your young family.

  2. Where did you get those cute dresses? Sounds like you've had a rough week! I hope this week is better for you! I'm sure it was a hard decision to take a break, but it sounds like your family needs you now and that you made the right decision!
