Week in Review..

We are loving have a dog, she is so much fun for the kids and has been fun to have in the house.
Rick was able to get out and go kayaking yesterday with Jacob. It was the first time in a really long time that he felt well enough that he could bend down and get into the kayak. He had a great time!

On Wednesday we celebrated Ricks Birthday, he was supposed to get the day off but he had 2 tours scheduled at the same time so he needed to go in for a few hours to help with a tour. Luckily he was able to spend the rest of the day at home and with the kids. Abby was so excited that it was his birthday because I made a cake! She kept trying to steal little licks of the cake all through the day, luckily she wasn't successful!
Jacob made a special catapult card for Rick, it shot little paper balls.
I made a pot roast for dinner and we had a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting in the middle and chocolate on top.

Abby's dresser broke this week, so I went searching for a more sturdy dresser. I found this beauty, Abby was so excited! She picked out a color for me to paint it and we organized her drawers. It was really cute!

Here's the after shot, she wanted a blue dresser. I think it turned out really cute!
Rick with his presents from Grandma and Grandpa Hahn, he got an airtight cell phone holder for kayaking, a waterproof speaker for kayaking and dress socks:)
Ricks mom likes to post old pics of Rick on his birthday, here he is with one of his surf boards growing up...

And then she found this pic of Ricks dad with a surfboard growing up...too cute!

Week in Review...

Big news this week is that we got a dog!! One of the residents at Ricks work wasn't taking care of his dog anymore, he's starting to lose his memory. They offered the dog to his family but they didn't want her, so Rick asked me if we could take her and I said yes! This was the pic that he sent me...her name is Buffy but the kids call her Lucky. She seems to be getting used to it, because she comes when we call her Lucky, sometimes! haha! We think she is hard of hearing and seeing, she's between 8-10 years old so she's super calm and a really sweet dog. She tolerates Abby torturing her all day long and we have finally gotten her to start eating, poor dog has had it rough.
Rick took a walk by his work and found Humpty Dumpty!
He took Lucky to get groomed and it was really close to his work so he had the girls take pics with all of the statues on Main Street.

Here she is after getting groomed!! Abby asked if we got a different dog? haha! She kept saying, she looks so different!! Yes, now she is clean and cut and looking cute!!
Getting groomed wore her out...
This was the night that we got her, Abby refuses to leave her side!

This is the video of when Rick surprised the kids with her!

Busy Week!

Yesterday we went to Wet N Wild in Phoenix because they had a super good discount for scouts and their families. We had never been, so it was fun to go and check it out. The kids had a blast and I even got to go on a few rides, they have some super scary ones! One is like a roller coaster, but you're on tubes! So crazy! Abby loved going in the wave pool with Rick, which was all that Rick could do because of his knees:) He still had fun though. Abby would go in the wave pool for about 5 minutes and then be freezing, so she spent a lot of time warming up in the sun.

We had a great Easter morning, the kids love searching for eggs. Well, at least the younger kids do:)

On Friday the older kids were invited to go to lunch with a family in our ward. They went to over easy and had lots of fun:)

Earlier that morning we had our community Easter Egg hunt and the Easter bunny even showed up! Abby was terrified of her, but Ashlyn and Jacob thought it was cute.

Abby with all of her sunbeam friends...

They had fun jumping off of the bench before the hunt started..
My Arizona baby, hunting for eggs barefoot...

After the hunt I had to rush out to the Mayo Clinic because Rick was getting a third opinion on his knee and had forgotten his MRI CD, so after dropping it off I took Abby to Riverview park. She wasn't too interested in the splash pad, so we wandered over to the park.

Since I'm in school I wanted to create a good family work space where everyone could do homework or crafts. It's a work in work in progress, but here's a BEFORE pic...

Here's a now pic, I got two desk tops from IKEA and put three filing cabinets under them. We now have a 10 foot work space for everyone to use. Just needs some decorating and we need to attach the two desks together.
 More Easter pics...

Rick and Jacob with matching ties...
Last night I wasn't feeling well, so Rick dyed eggs with the kids. Abby was so excited to show them to me after church, her's are the pink ones!
I got this pic of the Mesa Temple for Easter. I love it!
