Week in Review..

This week was our fall break from school. We started off the week by going to Riverview park with some friends...the kids had a blast! Ashlyn made it to the very top of the rope climbing pyramid. Great job Ashlyn!

There she is at the very top!

Our neighbor friend Ben, he is such a cutie!
Abby loved climbing the ropes too!

Our cute neighbor friend Emilie!

We also went over to Bass Pro shops to check out all of the cool animals...

We decided to get our flu shots all together this year, so I found a place that will give one to Abby. We get flu shots because I do daycare and Rick, Haley and Jacob all have asthma:(. Anyway, we waited two hours to get our shots and they take Abbys temp and she was running a temp so she couldn't get one. I could have just run into walgreens and been done in 10 minutes! Grrr! Anyway, Abby never got sick, so she probably would've been ok to get one, but they didn't want to risk it. So, anyway while we waited for 2 hours we decided to go get ice cream cones at McDonalds and play at the playplace. The kids love that place ever since Grandma and Grandpa Hahn took us there when they came a few weeks ago...we hadn't been in years!

I started getting stuff ready for our trip to San Diego and found that we still had sand in our bucket, Abby was delighted to play in it!

We left on Wednesday and went almost directly to the beach....we went to the beach 4 times on our trip! Lots of boogie boarding and playing in the sand...Abby loves the beach and the water!

When we first got there I couldn't stop sneezing, I was worried that I was going to be sick the whole time! Luckily, an allergy pill was all it took to feel better.

Ricks parents came and since Abby had just seen them a few weeks ago when they came to AZ, she didn't take very long to warm up! She actually let Grandma hold her!

All wet from boogie boarding...
Grandma had to try and photobomb....:)
Abby loved all the birdies....

Super funny story about these birds! They were the most aggressive seagulls that we've ever seen! They were trying to get all of our food, as soon as a crumb would hit the ground they would fight over the crumb. Grandma brought some donuts and gave one to Jacob to eat, he ran off with it and didn't realize that the birds were flying about 2 feet above him, waiting for him to drop any kind of crumb. As soon as he looked up and saw the birds flying after him, he got this terrified look on his face and threw his donut at them and ran as fast as he could away from them. We all asked him why he threw the donut and he said, "they wanted it more than me!" It was hilarious!! I was laughing for so long! They were crazy birds!
During Abby's naptime Rick took the kids to Old Town and window shopped, they found this old Wells Fargo wagon. Pretty cool!

Rick boogie boarding...

Rick took Jacob out to catch a wave....Jacob is getting a little braver each visit to the beach.
Jacob caught a wave!

Building sand castles....

October is Kids Free in San Diego, so with the help of Ricks parents, all of the kids got into the San Diego Zoo for free, minus me and Abby (naptime). They had lots of fun! Here they are on the double decker bus...

  1. I'm so glad that you got to get away to San Diego and the beach! I'm glad that you started to feel better too! We love Old Town. Too bad you didn't get to go to the Zoo too! The sacrifices Mom's make huh? I'm glad you guys had a great time!

  2. I miss the zoo! Totally Sam was always sick as a little baby and toddler so she was so far behind on her immunizations! she was the kid who got sick when she got them so they never wanted to risk it! I am all for preventative measures as we have asthma too over here
