Week in Review...

Rick and Abby at church last week after she had just woken up.
I decided to try out rock climbing again, its been since I was in girls camp! It was fun, scary and hard! My hands hurt the most! Rick and I are going to get certified so that we can belay the kids on the wall. When Haley turns 13 she can get certified too.

It was another good week of school for the kids. Rick took the kids swimming on Saturday. I took Abby to the dr this week because she is pushing out all of her food with her tongue. Instead of pushing her tongue back into her mouth and swallowing, her tongue pushs all of her food out. So I'm nursing every 1-2 hours during the day. It's crazy. They're checking with our insurance to see if we can get her some feeding therapy, I'm guessing that they will somehow teach her to eat while pushing her tongue back?? It seems like an impossible task to me, how do you teach yourself to change something you don't even think about doing? So, yes I'm having a little bit of anxiety about all of this and some bits of depressing times because I can't leave the house for more than an hour. As you can imagine, she is literally starving and I'm her only source of nutrition and I'm not providing her with enough nutrition, so it's an endless cycle for me. I'm hoping this week will bring lots of good information and we can move forward to her feeding from real food. She wants to eat anything and everything, she will put anything into her mouth, it just all ends up coming straight out of her mouth instead of back into her throat.:( Wish us luck!!

  1. Way to go with the rock climbing. I hope they can help Abby with her eating problems. That would be so hard. Good luck and she will be in our prayers.

  2. I'm sorry to hear about the feeding issues. Is she underweight at all? My baby was nursing like crazy, so I finally pumped and saw that I was only producing a little over an ounce. I decided to put her on a bit of formula for a while and she downed the bottle!

Good luck. Put up an update about the feeding stuff when you can!
