Earlier in the day, Rick and I placed these stones around the tree. It helps with watering and it looks pretty.
I was looking through my nana's journal and found this picture of a swing that they outside of their home. I have fond memories of swinging in this every time we would go and visit with them. I love how my Nana was such a detailed journaler. I love that she would include pictures and details of her day. She recorded the day of my birth and it's so interesting to hear her perspective of the event. I'm grateful that she recorded all that she did, I believe that I have this desire to journal because of her great example to me.
Haley was encouraged to wear make-up to church for the first time ever last weekend by her cousin Anna! Haley was so extremely nervous about it and was asking us the whole time during church if she looked ok?? Needless to say as soon as she got home she cleaned it off and hasn't worn it since! I guess she just isn't ready yet:).
Rick and I celebrated our 14th Anniversary this week on the 5th. I met him at work and we went to Red Robin for lunch. It was nice that we could sit and chat, and then I went to Ikea which is right near his work. He came home with flowers and chocolate! Great guy!
Abby even enjoyed some cake! We are having a hard time with getting her to eat. She only wants to nurse, we will give her food and she will chew it and then spit it out or dig it out of her mouth. She cries when she accidentally swallows some food. It's making me very nervous, when I talked to her dr about it he didn't seem concerned but a mother always worries!
On Wednesday the kids all started school. Going off of our experience from last year, we left extra early and this year we didn't have to make the long hike up the hill to get to school, we actually got a parking spot! Jacob has Mrs. Purcell and is in 1st grade. He had a funny experience when he was lining up there was this extra friendly little boy who wanted to be Jacobs friend, so I had him introduce himself, they got in line together and off they went. Later Jacob came home saying that that boy was actually in kindergarten! Kinda funny and kinda sad!
Ashlyn is in Mrs. Scow's 3rd grade class. She's excited because Mrs. Scow was her long term substitute last year while her teacher was on maternity leave, so she already knows and loves her!
Abby didn't mind waiting for the kids to go to school...with her crazy hair!
Haley is starting at Fremont Junior High this year, wahoo! It's right down the street so as soon as it cools down she will scooter on down there! She is excited to be in 7th grade and has a few friends in each of her classes and is getting the routine down.
Abby is enjoying the extra one on one time until we start up our daycare and she loves these stacking cups! She could do them all day long!
I loved sitting in that swing at Papa and Nana's! She was the best journalist ever! Abby's crazy hair looks like Amy's did at that age! Too funny! I didn't know that Anna told Haley to wear make up! Anna only wears it some times, not everyday! I'm glad her classes are going well for her! I am nervous for Anna to start Jr. High too! The grey looks great! Good job!
