Week in Review...

Ashlyn always has such pretty hair!

We put some cute pictures up on her wall to match her cute new bed...

Rick, Jacob and Rusty went for another hike yesterday, they're loving taking him on hikes...
The Weidmans got chicks! Abby is obsessed and has claimed one and goes over everyday to help take care of them. It's so cute!

I love that I can go in my backyard every morning and pick a fresh orange off our trees! Our first crop of tangelos is delicious! They're huge and so juicy! I juice them every morning!

Abby has been very interested in ICELAND lately, and so I've been showing her pictures of her cousin Trevor who is currently serving there. She loves seeing all of the scenery pics!

I've been using my wave crimper and my hair is sooooo big! It makes me laugh every day!

Any time one of the kids gets up on the trampoline Rusty has to join! He loves jumping on the trampoline...

It looks like he's laughing! He loves hiking!

Ashlyns pretty nails...

Pretty sunsets...

Ashlyn visited her best friend Sara, they've been friends since 1st grade. They're at different schools now, but they talk on the phone for hours every day...

Ashlyn did some painting at a friends house this weekend...

We had ward conference today and it was absolutely inspired. They were talking about the new For the strength of Youth program and how it's a higher level of expectation not a lower one. We are expected to find out for ourselves if choices we want to make are good, and that the Lord trusts us. I bore my testimony to the kids on the way home from church that I needed them to find their own testimonies, they need to build their own firm foundations now before they leave the house. They need to know now what choices they will make, and what choices they won't make. It's so important to KNOW before you leave the house, that you're going to stay true to your covenants, that in itself can bring peace and happiness. We all chose Christ already, this is evidenced by us coming to earth. We chose to follow Christ, now we need to build that relationship with him. We need to know for ourselves that he is our brother, that Heavenly Father is our God, that we can turn to them for anything we need. We are never alone and can always turn to HIM for guidance and comfort. We feel peace and happiness when we are making good choices and living a good life filled with service, unselfishness and seeking further knowledge and guidance. Happiness doesn't come from seeking worldly things, it may bring happiness temporarily but it can not bring true joy and peace. I know this gospel is true because Christ is at the head of it, yes we are all humans and all humans make mistakes. Yes, the people can falter and history has shown us that no one in the gospel is perfect except for Christ. That doesn't mean that the gospel itself isn't true. We are all imperfect beings, learning and growing and making lots of mistakes along the way. Look to Christ as the example, he is the only perfect example.

Week in Review...

On my last day off which was Monday it was raining and cold so I took the kids to Fat Cats and they had lots of fun playing the arcade games for a few hours. Abby loved playing the racing games!

Since I didn't get to go see my parents, I needed to distract myself from feeling down so of course I got started on a project! I decided to paint and put up some board and batten in our kids bathroom. I cut out the wood, nailed it, painted the whole room and now I just need to paint the cabinets because they're looking really dingy. But for now, it looks good! Here is the before----
And here's the After, I love the color. It's called Imperial grey but it pulls green which I love!

One of my students parents made me a scrapbook calendar for the whole year with pictures of my family! It's so cute, I love it!
On Thursday night I took Abby into the urgent care because she had been feeling really sick all week with stomach pains. The urgent care thought it was her appendix so I took her to the E.R. The E.R. took a urine sample and an X-Ray, she was so brave doing both! The X-Ray showed a bunch of black spots over the area where she said it was hurting. I googled as I waited and it said that black spots usually mean gas or constipation and that's exactly what the dr came and told us several hours later. We left the hospital around 10:20 and got home and put to bed around 11. It was a late night for her, so I stayed home on Friday and we tried to get her feeling better. Today she finally turned the corner and started acting more herself. I've missed my happy baby. Here she is being so good in the E.R. she does not like drs offices at all, so this was really hard for her but she was so brave!

I found this bedframe on Offerup for $30 so I snatched it up! Ashlyn's bed frame broke and I was thinking this would be so cute for her. I quickly painted it and we set it up for her, she's loving it!
Abby likes it too!

Ricks parents started their mission last week in the Provo MTC, they loved that the lights were still up for Christmas. They're now making their way over to Ohio, we are excited to hear all about their adventures.
Rick, Jacob and Rusty went for a hike yesterday, they said that all the hikers just loved Rusty. He's definitely a people loving dog! He loves everyone and everyone loves him. He was so good on the hike they said....

Ashlyn and Maddie trying on their winter guard dresses!

Rusty so happy being out on the trail....
