Week in Review...

On Friday Ashlyn had a 'day on the prairie' where they spent the whole day doing pioneer activities. I sent her with rolls and cornbread and they had stew and succotash for lunch, they made real butter and played the stick pull game. She had lots of fun being outdoors the whole day and luckily it was beautiful cool weather for her.
One big development this week was are new addition to the family...Thumper! He's such a cute bunny, the kids are loving taking care of it and chasing it all over the yard.
We also had our first soccer games this week, Jacob played goalie for a little bit in his game.
This is an old pic from Ricks work with his old Executive Director on the left and his Marketing co-worker Steve in the middle.

Lexi came to play this week and the girls had a lot of fun together...

I bought this 'cats claw' plant right before I had Abby and I thought it had died when we first planted it, but it loves the heat! It has these little suckers on it that attaches to the wall. I love how it blossoms in the spring. I love that it didn't die and is thriving now, I feel like I need more of these plants in my life....
Our new lemon tree is doing good and our garden is flourishing...
Jacob got to go see the A's play in a spring training game for a field trip on Monday!! How cool is that?! They even got A's hats!! So lucky!!

Haley was thrilled that we finally have a pet!

Jacob and his friends from the neighborhood hanging out in their favorite tree at the park...
We found this little nest with a bird in it on our wall. Spring has sprung!
We got our annual Easter treat from my parents, Abby was squealing with joy!!
Ashlyn made this cute little wagon in preparation for her day on the prairie...

Ashlyn's spring picture came out so cute!!
Here's Ashlyn playing some soccer ball, she has lots of friends on her team this year so that makes it extra fun!
Jacob's spring picture, so cute!!
We had a busy week, all filled with good things. Rick is healing his hamstring, slowly but surely. He is finally walking around without crutches! That's a victory!

Week in Review..

The kids entertain Abby by playing blocks with her, this was their creation last Sunday...

I took my daycare kids to the park this week because they were installing a new slide on the playground and it was fun for the kids to watch. They love playing in the sand and it was beautiful weather so we had fun. They're all saying "cheese" in this pic...
Rick teases me that all of the kids that I watch actually look like they could be my kids! I get asked all of the time if I have twins? haha!
This last week was a busy week because Spring soccer is starting. We will be busy on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights for the next several weeks. We decided to let Jacob give it another go and see if he likes playing. Ashlyn is super competitive but Jacob has a more sensitive, non-competitive spirit so we will see how he does. He may take after his mom!

Week in Review...

This week was Spring Break for the kids! On Monday we went to IKEA and to Fat Cats for miniature golfing and bowling. Abby even joined in and rolled the ball down the ramp.

On Tuesday we took some friends to go ice skating, which is a new event added to our pogo pass. The kids were so excited! Abby and I were just planning on dropping the kids off but the staff persuaded us to try and ice skate too. Abby looked so adorable in her tiny little ice skates!! It was the cutest thing ever. We lasted about 3 minutes on the ice! I was too unsteady and had to hold onto the wall the whole time and she was clinging to me with both hands because the ice was so slippery and she was so scared that she would fall. It was a fun attempt! I had Jacob rest with her so that I could go around the rink a few times and then we both just watched the kids ice skate. She kept her skates on for about 20 minutes because she loved them so much.

Ashlyn and her friend Rindi.

Haley brought her friend Addi. Addi and Rindi are sisters:)
On Wednesday we went swimming with some friends at their apartment complex. Thursday the kids were taken by the Weidmans to Makutu's Island while I did some daycare and then I dropped them off at skateland. Friday we had our annual St. Patricks Day Feast with the Weidmans and it was delicious and fun as always. Here are all of the kids on the trampoline, Haley was babysitting and came a little later.
Me and Janette:)
Rick pulled his hamstring on his left leg, so we borrowed this wheelchair for him to use at home to rest his legs. He has a torn ACL on his right knee and a pulled hamstring on his left leg. The dr thinks that his left leg was overcompensating for his right knee being hurt for so long. Now his left leg has to heal before he can have his surgery. He is a mess! He has to go to physical therapy three times a week until its healed. Abby loves getting a ride on the wheelchair....until I take a pic:)
Finally got a smile!
We had a fun and busy spring break! I got an 86% and an 87% on my mid-terms which I thought I had totally bombed! So that was good news!

Week in Review...

Ashlyn took a bunch of selfies in the car this week...

Jacob had a pack meeting and earned a bunch of awards and then they did the sprinkler call for their reward shout out thing...
It's starting to get hot here already, ugh! Usually it holds off until May, so I'm hoping this is just a quick spurt of heat and then it will cool off again, fingers crossed!! Anyway, we are wearing hats to the park because of the sun and I thought Abby looked so cute pushing her stroller to the park but she didn't want her pic taken. She has to take her stroller and her baby to the park every time!! It drives me nuts because she never wants to push it home and she doesn't play with it at the park, but she HAS to take it. This stage won't last long though, so I'm trying to be a loving mom and let her take her "baby" to the park.
She really is at such a cute stage, she loves to play with babies and will sing to them and feed them and put them to bed. It is so cute to hear her singing to her babies the songs that I sing to her everyday. Its in those moments that I feel like I'm actually doing something good!
We borrowed my friends key again and hit the pool, since it was 90 outside!! Too soon!! The kids love swimming though, so they're loving this new activity.
Abby loves to jump into the pool. She was swimming and this little girl comes up to her with a hat on and a life jacket just like hers and she says, "we match!" It was so cute!
We have Spring break this week, so I'm going to try and squeeze in some fun activities in between trying to study and then take 2 mid-terms and do day care:) I'm finding that it's really hard to go back to school with a toddler, I don't have much time to study. When shes in bed at night, I just want to go to bed too. haha, It will all work out:) Should be an interesting week!

Week in Review...

This was from last week, a few days ago Rick went to the dr to set a date for his knee surgery. He went into the dr appt just expecting to set up a date and was told that after reviewing the MRI that the surgery would actually be more extensive than they had thought. He not only needs to have part of his hamstring replace his ACL, he also needs some screws placed in his knee to hold it all in place. He won't be able to even bend his knee for a few weeks after the surgery, so he can't go back to work for a few weeks. Then 9 months of physical therapy. This is not good news, because he doesn't have that kind of time off available. He's going to get a second opinion from another dr and we are hoping he gives us a different option. Poor Rick!
Rick took this of me before I left for my first day of preschool observations last week. I was really nervous!! This last Friday, I was a lot less nervous thank goodness. Rick has Fridays off, so this is working out good. He takes care of Abby and I go off and observe. Abby loves her daddy time!
He took these pictures of her when he took her to the park. She loves the swing, now that she has it mastered. She can swing really high!
Look at that happy face!
It makes it a lot easier for me to leave, knowing that she's being well taken care of.

We borrowed my friends pool key yesterday and took the kids swimming. The pool was heated and the perfect temperature. The kids had fun!

Haley taught all of the Activity Day girls how to do some line dances this last week. It was lots of fun, they learned the Cha Cha Slide, the Cupid Shuffle and the runaway dance. It was a good week!
