Week in Review...

I celebrated my 35th birthday last Tuesday! It was a normal day, I had daycare kids and the kids had school but one of my daycare moms surprised me with flowers and a balloon! That was so sweet and unexpected. I also got lots of phone calls from family, that made my day! I look forward to those calls every year. I went and got a free firehouse sub which I had for dinner and so that was yummy. Rick made me a carrot cake that was great!!

Abby was fascinated by the candles!

On Saturday, it was a very busy day! It was Jacobs birthday, but as an Activity day leader I needed to go to the Stake Activity Days event. They did a great event all about being a missionary, it was really cute and the girls had fun.
Jacob made this lego set that he got from his friend, with Rick.

Jacob and Rick started the day out by going to the lake and kayaking. They had a great time and even got in the water.

Then Ashlyn went to a birthday party where she got to go ice skating for the first time! She is a great rollerblader and apparently really did a great job ice skating! She had lots of fun!

Then later that night we got to finally celebrate Jacobs birthday. He requested pizza for dinner!
Rick made him a chocolate cake!We are so happy to have Jacob in our family, he makes life fun! He is always singing, talking up a storm and is a very sweet boy. He is very protective of his older sister Ashlyn, if they're fighting like cats and dogs and one of them gets in trouble they always defend each other. They're more like twins than regular siblings, it is cute. Jacob is into electronics, he knows how to run the DVD player, WII and ipad better than I do. He loves to be active, running, jumping, doing somersaults, rollerblading, playing at the park, and anything that doesn't involve sitting down. He is extremely shy at school and I don't think he talks more than a few words in his classroom so when he gets home he could talk for hours! We love our Jacob-bean!

He had a great birthday!
This was found across the street from our house, a huge dead scorpion!
Update on schooling: Jacob and Ashlyn and Haley are all enjoying school this year, they have great teachers. I spoke with Jacobs teachers about the concerns that I have about him and so she's keeping a good eye out for him and reassured me that the concerns that I have about him are normal for his age and that he's working hard and doing great so far at school. Fingers crossed that he is able to keep up and stay on task for the rest of the year. He did an hour of online summer school each weekday during the summer, so hopefully that is what helped him to start out his 2nd grade year on such a good note. He has a really hard time with math and hearing information and then repeating back that information, but he's starting to improve. He would much rather be outside playing than inside learning, but he is so shy that he doesn't want to get into trouble at school, so he stays on task the best that he can.

Week in Review..

Here's Haley's hair from last weeks headband curls!
Here's Ashlyns....

Here's a couple of pics from my early morning runs...

Abby is all about the hats and high heels!

I didn't have any daycare kids on Friday, so I decided to take Abby on a daughter-mommy date! We went to the Phoenix Children's museum as soon as it opened and she was in heaven! Her favorite part was the grocery store, which is always a hit!

She got very mad when I tried to put the groceries up to check them out, she only wanted them to stay in her cart!

She never actually went down this slide, apparently it was too scary.

On Saturday morning we went for a bike ride to go and see the ducks at the pond. She of course had to wear a hat, this is a hat that Grandma Hahn gave to Haley when she was a 2 yr old baby!

Can't forget her purse!
She loved the ducks!

On Saturday we celebrated Jacobs birthday a week early by taking the kids to Krazy Air, and he got to take a friend Drew. We found a great deal on groupon! They got to jump for 2 1/2 hrs!

It was a successful birthday celebration!

Week in Review...

I found this picture on Ricks phone the other day and I had to share. I love the pure joy you can see in her face! She loved the beach!
I took this pic on my run one morning this last week, it's so unbelievably beautiful in the morning. It's especially beautiful right before the sun fully peaks over the trees. It's not been easy getting up extra early to run this week because the kids started school but it helps my day to go by better when I can exercise and have time just for me and my thoughts.

Wednesday was the big day! Jacob started 2nd grade with Mrs. Germaine....
Ashlyn started 4th grade with Miss Oh...

and Haley started 8th grade at Fremont Jr. High, her last year.

I scored this butlers table and fell in love....

Love it!!

Haley and Ashlyn tried doing headband curls for their on Saturday night for church on Sunday. It turned out beautifully, but I forgot to take pics. We'll have to do it again next week!
