This was a busy week! Haley and Kevin flew in on Sunday, which also happened to be her birthday! We celebrated with Gilroy chicken and mashed potatoes and brownies for dessert, then we went for a walk to red mountain park. It was great having her come visit. On Thanksgiving Rick, Ricks mom and Ashlyn went for a hike while I prepared some food, mostly for Rick who couldn't eat the real thanksgiving dinner we had at his brothers house.
I also set up for Christmas so that Haley could see it, since she won't be here for Christmas.
We went to Rob and Megan's mothers cabin up in mayer, AZ. It was up this really bumpy, dusty road on the side of a cliff. It was a harrowing experience getting up there, one that I'm not sure I could repeat. I was happy to come down off of that mountain...
Here is the view off of the deck...
Looking at the cabin...
Part of the land that Megans mom owns has a gold mine on it, so we looked for rocks with gold in them and found quite a few! There was a big fire a few years ago and the fire dept didn't have the money to bring all of their equipment down off the mountain, so they left it there...
The view was unreal, the kids kept saying that it was like Grandma and Grandpa Hahn's view...
We had thanksgiving at Megan's moms house and she had Christmas activities, Hanukkah and thanksgiving activities for the kids...
They also had games for the adults...
They made gingerbread houses, they hired someone to run all of these activities for the kids...
We went for a walk around her historic phoenix home and it was a beautiful neighborhood....
The activities leader leading us on a kazoo parade around the block...
We played a little pickleball with Haley and Kevin...
All of the family in front of the cabin...
Ashlyn went to a birthday part for our neighbor friend, and the party house had a cow!
Ashlyn with the birthday boy Ben, they've grown up down the street together! So fun that they're both 16 now!! It was a neon party!
Apparently there were lots of cute boys at this party, haha!
Most of the decor at the cabin was very interesting...
There was a creepy dummy in the firetruck...
Haley and Kevin went to the temple and the visitors center...
Haley's birthday brownies...
My growing nutcracker collection...
We are grateful for everything we have but especially for family. Family and the gospel are everything!
