Week in Review...

Cute pic of Ashlyn with her friends Emilie and Emma at the wards party last week...
Beautiful sunset...
Jacob made an Egyptian mask just like Haley and Ashlyn made when they were in 6th grade. He looks so cute!
Ashlyn made the A-B honor roll!! Way to go Ashlyn!
She also received her Young Women Medallion today! She's been working super hard to get it before the end of the year, and she did it! Great job Ashlyn!
Haley went on her 2nd blind date yesterday! It all came about when one of her best friends was talking in seminary about how one of her trials was that she had never been asked out on a date before and how she was working through that-well one of the boys in the class asked her out! They decided to do a group date and invited Haley and set her up. They picked them up and they played 9 square at the park, human chess, some card games and barbecued at the park. I was very impressed with the boys creativity! I hope that she'll be included in more group dates in the future, she had a great time!

Today was our wards primary program. I came down with a sinus infection on Thursday and have had a fever since then, but we had to press forward saints and the show must go on and all that jazz. The performance was adorable and the kids did great. I of course cried throughout all of it. The whole point is to feel the spirit and nothing can bring the spirit into the room faster than listening to children sing songs about Heavenly father. I'm so grateful to be serving in the primary, but I'm even happier that I probably only have one more program to be in charge of! haha! Ethan was adorable and Abby was so brave. It's a special thing to perform in 2 programs together. We are so blessed to have them nearby, Carrie dropped off the most delicious soup for me. Such a sweet sister!

Week in Review...

It's school picture season and so we always have to pull out this cute picture of poor Jacob. We laugh so hard every time we look at it...

Abby loves her little trampoline, she is such a monkey...

 Before the ward carnival...

Carrie and Austin after going through the obstacle course. Carrie was so sweet to help me supervise the bouncy houses, even though she isn't in primary!

Abby loves holding sweet Lilly! I even got to hold her for a little bit in sacrament today!

Jacob got to go on an overnight campout with the young men on Friday and they shot some rifles. He had a great time, he gets to do so many fun things!

The girls all got to go with dad kayaking on Saturday! I had 2 baptisms that I had to attend, so I didn't get to go. They had a blast! Even Abby got to go, and she loved it!

I love Abby's face in this pic, you can tell how happy she was!

It was a great week! I've been asked to share an experience that I've had with feeling the spirit in my calling at our Auxiliary training this week so I thought I would share it here too. When I was putting together the primary program, I was using LDS Tools to make sure that I included everyone in having a part. I had it all planned out, I had everyone that was in LDS tools participating and thought I was good. Then that night I woke up several times in the night with different names popping into my head over and over. The next morning I checked the program and those names hadn't been included, because for some reason they weren't in LDS tools. The Lord wanted those children to be included in the primary program and I'm so grateful for the Holy Ghost in placing those names in my head so that they weren't forgotten. I remember my dad telling me that on his morning walks he would have names pop into his head of people that he felt prompted to check up on. It was cool to see that we feel promptings in similar ways.

Week in review...

This last week was Fall Break, so we spent the first half of the week at the park...
Abby made a pillow fort...

Then we went to San Diego on Thursday-Saturday...

We went straight to the Seal Tours to make our scheduled reservation. We were a little late finding it, and then we found out that we were at the wrong location so we had to book it on a 10 minute walk to the other location. Kids were free and it was an amazing tour. The bus just drives right into the water and becomes a boat! So cool!

On Friday we went to the beach and Ashlyn saw a baby shark as soon as we started boogie boarding, then Rick stepped on the wing of a sting ray-luckily avoided getting stung and then he saw a bigger shark while he was boogie boarding so we headed home. We didn't want to tempt our fate, but it was a beautiful day at the beach...

We also spent time at their awesome pool and spa. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it was a brand new hotel, super nice!

Jacob loves taking pictures in the sun...

Our room had 2 tvs!!

Which one is me and which one is Haley?  I couldn't tell the first time that i looked!! haha!

Good bye until next time San Diego! It was a great trip!
