Spring Break Fun

This last week was our school's Spring Break! On Monday we got things ready for our big trip to Southern California. On Tuesday my friend took Haley and Ashlyn on a hike up to the wind caves. They had lots of fun...
On Wednesday we left for Los Angeles to celebrate my dad's 70th Birthday! My dad rented a house in Garden Grove, CA for the Ehlert family, Paul Family and us with my parents. It was huge and had plenty of space. They even had a bunk bed for the kids...
We went to the beach on Thursday, it was frigidly cold! I still got in though and did a little boogie boarding! Only Rick and Ashlyn were brave enough to get in with me...
Jacob loved holding baby Mya, Sarah and Brett's new baby girl, she is so sweet!

Brett doing Macey's hair, so cute!!

The Nelsons rented a condo a few miles away and their place had a heated pool so we got in for a bit. It was still super cold outside, so we had to try and warm up after getting out...
On Friday we went to Disneyland and it was so much fun! Randy, Lindsay, Garron and Mathias ended up surprising us by coming as well. It was fun to see Mathias looking really good!
Abby was so brave and went on almost every ride that we went on, she chickened out of the Matterhorn, but I think it would have terrified her so that ended up being a good thing..
She was terrified of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but loved Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. Silly girl! The other kids loved all of the rides...
Haley almost got arrested by some storm troopers, she ran away as quick as she could... Ashlyn was brave though...
So fun to be with Mom and Dad at Disneyland...
It was a fun day!! Lots of family came, we missed all of those that couldn't make it.
Mathias!!
My dad with Mickey Mouse, so cute!!
My niece Emily got engaged that night while the fireworks were going off. So cute! She'll be getting married in June...
We celebrated Dad a few times, one time on Saturday morning before Sarah left we sang to him and then again that night with the Nelsons. Kim made a delicious spaghetti dinner and Apple pie for Dad.
I can't believe my dad is 70 now, he looks and acts a lot younger. I think that age is just a number, he is in good health and I'm so grateful for him in my life!
We went back to the beach on Saturday and it was a little bit warmer, there were some super cool kites set up...

My best friend growing up, Amy Black sent me these pictures that she found...
I got called to be the Primary President in my ward and will start my calling on Sunday. This is the motto that the kids and teachers recite every week, 4 simple truths that every child in primary should hold dear. I'm excited to start this new journey...
Abby got to go on a preschool field trip this morning to the police station, she had lots of fun learning all about police gear...
