We have had a very busy last two weeks! Ashlyn tried out for Zaharis Idol, which is a talent show at her school. She tried out with three of her friends, singing and acting out a song called, Chocolate! They found out the next day that they had made it into the show! They will be performing in a few weeks, she was very excited! On Wednesday, we took our Activity girls up on a hike and at the top we had them relate how hiking to the top related to the gospel. They were very intuitive about how we should be prepared, that we always have a friend with us, and that the road isn't always easy but making it to the top makes it all worth it! On Thursday we had our new AC system installed! They were at our house from 8:30 a.m. to 7 at night! We are so glad that that is done and we can enjoy our new AC system this summer! Looking forward to lower bills! On Friday, the kids had an early out day and it was dress up day! They had to dress up like a decade, Ashlyn chose the 70's and Jacob chose the 50's. They had a sock hop right after lunch where they learned different dances and had lots of fun!
This last week we had spring break! We packed lots of activities in every single day! We used our POGO pass a ton! We started out on Saturday going to Riverview park and meeting up with Uncle Rob and Aunt Jenni and Matthew and Nina, the kids had fun climbing the ropes and playing. Right after riverview park I dropped the kids off at skateland and they skated for almost 2 hours! They loved it! On Monday, Rick and I both had to work so we went to Pump it Up and met Rick there after work. Pump it up had these big blow ups to play on, the kids loved that! Even Rick and I were able to climb and slide down them and jump!
On Tuesday, we both had to work again but I took the kids to a new park and there was even a little hike by the park that we were able to go on. It was fun! That night, Rick and I went to a $5 movie, Gods of Egypt, the theater was super cool it had leather reclining chairs! We didn't last at the movie, more than 15 minutes...it was too loud for Rick and we just didn't like the movie. That was a bummer.
On Wednesday we put up the new trampoline! Abby spent about 6 hours jumping that day! I'm not kidding! That girl has so much energy and loves to jump! I had to work so Rick took the kids to Makutu's Island which is a huge kids play place with a huge climbing tree in the middle with a long slide going down, all of the kids really enjoyed it!
On Thursday, it was St. Patricks day! The kids woke up to the milk being green and a line of pennies that led out to the door! We took the kids to the zoo! We are loving our POGO pass! These pics are all out of order! The kids loved seeing all of the animals! When we came home I was changing Abby and pulled a shirt out of her drawer, I immediately felt a sting on my arm but didn't think much about it and started putting the shirt on Abby, then I saw a bug on her head! I immediately swished it off of her head and then my arm started really stinging and I started realizing that it had been a bee! Luckily it landed on the bed and I was able to kill it. So weird that it was in our house! And I'm so glad that it stung me instead of Abby! We also had our annual St. Patricks day feast with our neighbors the Weidmans, where they provided corned beef and cabbage and we brought the mashed potatoes and dessert. That night we also had a ward RS birthday activity where we played RS trivia, and our team won! It was fun to get out and socialize.
On Friday we went to the lake and everyone kayaked even Abby! I stayed at the beach and played in the sand and water with Abby. It was a beautiful day and the water felt great!

We had a wonderful spring break! It was fun to enjoy some extra time with the kids and be able to play so much outside while the weather is still nice. Our neighbors have already kicked on their AC!! It's been getting up to 81 in the house, I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out but I'm hoping that I can at least make it until April before it's on 24/7 until October! Gotta love Arizona!
