Baptism!

A few days before our guests arrived we had some guests of the feline persuasion:) This momma cat and little kitten were so fun for Abby! She would talk to them and poke at the window talking excitedly about them. They were only around for a few hours to take a nap, and then they left.
When I was getting out the halloween decorations abby latched onto this skeleton and didn't want to let it go...

Ricks parents arrived on Thursday night and stayed at Rob's house. They came over on Friday morning and spent the morning with Rick, kayaking at the lake. Rick's mom roller her kayak, but she didn't mind too much!
My parents arrived late Friday night after helping out a friend in need who accidentally flew into the Phoenix Gateway airport but rented a car from a different airport, so luckily my parents were able to help him out. They didn't get to bed until midnight!

Saturday morning I had a terrifying experience on my run, a huge dog was chasing me and jumping all over me! I was literally in tears and shaking when I got home. I was convinced that I would never run again....but then I got up and did on Monday and now this morning...so far no more dogs!

After my terrifying run, Jacob got baptized! It was a beautiful service, both the talks were given by two ladies in our ward and they did a great job! Haley played the piano while Emilie Weidman and Ashlyn sang, When I am Baptized. They all did a great job! Rick then baptized Jacob and then confirmed him with Grandpa Hahn and Grandpa Johnson participating and acting as witnesses for the baptism. My friend Bridget was able to come to the baptism, she's a Catholic so it's been fun discussing our different religions and to have her there was very sweet!

After the baptism we went back to our house and had a luncheon. Pulled pork, jello salad, potato salad, veggies, green bean salad, rolls, mashed potatoes, peach pie and chocolate pie:) It was yummy! After Abby took her nap Rick and his parents took the kids to go see Tomorrowland at the $2 theater and my parents took me and Abby out shopping. It was a great day!

On Sunday we all went to church and then came home and had sandwiches. After Abby's nap we took my parents out for a drive to see the river, some wild stallions and the lake! It was a beautiful drive, except for the part where we almost got hit by a wrong way driver around a blind curve going up a mountain! Ya, that got our hearts pumping!

It was fun to have our parents come and celebrate with us! We miss them already!!
We found a huge spider at Costco!!

Week in Review...

Yesterday we took Jacob to the Mesa Temple to take pictures in preparation for his baptism coming up on Saturday. He lasted about 5 minutes before he said he was done, luckily we were able to get a few good ones! Here's what we got...

These are the ones that made the cut....

This last week is was picture day for the little ones...
I ventured out with my daycare kids this week to the park. The temps were down in the 90's so I thought  I should take advantage. If you can't tell, there are three babies in two swings! One is right behind Abby, the 18 month old is on the left and Abby and the 1 yr old are on the right. I think the 18 month old was holding on for dear life.....Abby laughed the whole time...

Abby and the 18 month old get along really good, they have lots of fun together.

This is how I have to grocery shop, if I put Abby into the cart she immediately stands up. So I have to hold her, while pushing the cart! It is tedious and I'm usually sweating by the end....I try to shop only while Rick is home to avoid this...but sometimes I have to go with her and it ends up like this...she is a stinker and a momma's girl and has me wrapped around her finger!!

Week in Review...

This huge scorpion was found dead in the street in front of our home! This and the baby scorpion that Rick stepped on in the backyard are the only ones that we've ever seen here by our house thank good ness.
I found this dresser at goodwill last Saturday and I got it for $7.50! I love it!
Abby hasn't been feeling well this week, so that calls for lots of snuggles. She usually wants to only let me hold her, but one day she wanted daddy so he had to take full advantage!

Caught this beautiful sunrise on my morning run this week...
Jacob started scouts last week, he got to go swimming last Wednesday and this week he had his pinewood derby. Here he is with his car. the torpedo!
I got to go see Wicked for the second time with my good friend Janette, we had a great time! We went out to PF Changs before hand and that was yummy. The broadway changed some costumes and some words, so that made it interesting.
Love broadway!
We were on row 17!!
Jacob all decked out in his boy scout stuff, those patches are no joke to sew on! Hopefully he looks halfway decent:)

Abby decided that even though it's 104 outside, it's cool enough for some winter gear. Too cute!

Jacob was the first one to be announced..
Placing his car on the track...

Rick got to race his car too, the Rickster with the laser beam light. Rick won for Funniest car and Jacob won for fanciest paint job. They were trying to be nice, because they both came in last almost every time:) Rick got released as cubmaster today and is going to be a primary teacher, he is excited.
Abby is obsessed with shoes, she calls them, "oooooes", she is constantly changing shoes all day long and the first thing she says in the morning or when waking up from her nap is, oooooes! She sneaks out into the garage and we end up with all of our shoes in the house, so we've had to start locking the garage door. She is too funny!
