Rick has been having a lot of abdominal pain the last couple of weeks so he went to the Mayo Clinic on Wednesday to get an upper GI done. We thought it would be a quick procedure, so I brought Abby along thinking that we would be home before nap time. Boy were we wrong! We got there and immediately the nurse said that he should plan on spending 2-2 1/2 hrs there and asked if we were staying in the building. I laughed and said that we would probably find something to go and do, and they suggested a splash pad. The nurses were so cute, they gave us 2 hospital towels to take with us, and 2 water bottles and directions to the splash pad. Luckily I had a spare set of clothing in the car!
She loved it!! Rick actually ended up being there for 3 hours:(. Hopefully what they found will be enough to help him out. He went to the E.R. on Friday because the pain got worse, but they couldn't find anything and sent him home after a few hours. Hoping we get answers soon.
On Saturday we decided to get out of the house and go to Bass Pro Shops, the kids always love it there.
While we were at Bass Pro, Haley was at a birthday party where they had a cupcake wars competition. These are Haleys cupcakes that she made. Pretty cute!

Week in Review...
Ashlyn took this pic with her good friend Emilie that lives down the street. Emilie is basically an adopted daughter for us, she fits right in!
We have been looking for kayaks for a few years, but they're incredibly expensive, heavy and we had no idea how we would transport them. So when we refinanced our house and were given a month off of paying our mortgage, I thought that for Fathers Day I could possibly find a good deal on a kayak! Well, I still couldn't find any good deals and we still had the issue of weight and transportation so then I found an inflatable kayak on clearance at Walmart!! So I ordered them and when they arrived I blew them up and we surprised Rick! He was so excited that he hopped right in with Abby! haha!
On Friday night we took our first real date night since Abby was born, ya we are bad about going on dates!! We usually take Abby with us everywhere we go, so Haley watched the kids and put them to bed. Everything went fine, so we might venture out again:) We went to Famous Dave's BBQ, and I ended up getting sick but luckily recovered in time to watch the comedy Improv show at Jesterz! It was hilarious! It's a clean, comedy improv show that had me in stitches the whole time! I would go back in a heartbeat!
Then on Saturday, Rick took the kids kayaking on the Salt River. They were gone for a few hours and they came back saying that they had had a blast! They can't wait to go back again! Yea!! They just let the air out of the kayaks, stash them in the van and then quickly blow them up again at the river. Works out perfectly!
Abby is a little monkey on this trampoline that I picked up at DI. She loves it!
Rick got spoiled with breakfast today, I'm hoping that my dad and Rick's dad also know how much we love and appreciate them! Happy Fathers Day!
Almost 15 years later and 4 kids, we have grown!

Week in Review...
The second week of summer started our swim team fun! After much coaxing and convincing and possibly bribing Haley decided to sign up for swim team this year as well as Jr. Lifeguard! She was so excited! not!! haha! We even convinced her that it would be awesome for her to ride her bike, since the pool is only about a mile away and her swim team starts at 7 a.m! Well, our neighbors are also doing swim team and heard that she was biking, so they said they would scooter down with her. So, she decided to just grab her scooter as well, instead of bike. Everything was going great until they were leaving from swim team to come home and Haley tripped with her scooter and it went zinging around and hit her hard on her ankle. She said it hurt really bad, but she just kept riding. She mentioned that it hurt when she got home, but I didn't think it was a big deal. Well.....by about 7p.m. that same night, she couldn't put any weight on it and she was crying when Rick was touching her foot and testing it out. So we took her to Urgent Care and it turns out that she sprained her ankle pretty bad! Poor girl! I thought to myself, "oh no! There goes her whole summer plans of swim team and jr. lifeguarding and being out of the house!"Well, luckily after a week of resting she is back at swim team and jr. lifeguarding, hallelujah!
Haley's been wearing an ankle brace and so maybe Abby thought it was the newest fashion trend?
Along with swim team comes swim goggles! Abby had to join in on the fun!
Jacob got 3rd place at his first meet, freestyle event!
Ashlyn got 5th place! She's a very strong and fast swimmer and very competitive!
We decided to take the kids out to Bahama Bucks since we had a BOGO free coupon! We love that place, this was Abby's first time!
Ashlyn and Jacob were there too...:)
Oh and us too!
It was a busy, but good week. The kids are fully immersed in swim team, summer reading program and trying to stay busy at home with chores and not too much t.v. Happy Summertime!

Jacob likes taking selfies....
Rick and I took a date night out to Cafe Rio, we love their food! Luckily we had another BOGO free coupon!
Then we went to a wedding reception and they did the coolest thing!! As soon as you entered the church they had the professional photographer take each familys picture with an Instax camera, which is a the newest kind of polaroid camera, then they taped the picture onto a scrapbook page and we got to sign it! Such a cute idea! The kids were amazed when she pulled the picture out of the camera and then watched as it developed! It was a busy, but good week.
