Weeks in Review...

Here are pics from the last time that we saw Ricks grandparents. Both of them have passed now. I was just barely pregnant with Abby in these pics, so they didn't get to meet her cute face.

Because Haley won the STAAR award during the year, the Student Academic and Attitude Reward, she was invited to a special rewards night where they recognized each of them for their achievement and then they held a raffle for a bunch of great prizes! We actually won a 4 pack to a Diamondback game!! Then they had an ice cream social afterwards, it was a fun night. We told Haley that she better get the award next year too, haha!

Haley with her best friend from our ward Alyssa, who also won the award!
The game just happened to be for that Friday night!

They had fun!

The weather in May has been unnaturally gorgeous!! I'm talking about 70's and 80's which are unheard of in May, so we lapped it up! Bike rides galore!

Ricks brother Rob had knee replacement surgery, so we went to go and visit him and his parents who are out helping Rob. Abby is obsessed with his dogs!
She says dog, but it sounds like duck! So cute!

Jacob had to show me this pic that he took of Abby when she was just a sweet little chubby cheek baby girl!
Now she's my big little stinker who still doesn't want to eat! But she will enjoy an ice cream cone!

We decided to try out a new Mesa pool and they have a lazy river!! We loved it!

I think Jacobs smile here is ridiculously cute!! He's usually such a grump about taking pics, just like his daddy, so I told him that he better smile!! I think he was laughing at Grandpa Johnson in this pic.

School is out for summer!!! The neighborhood kids couldn't be happier!!
We invited Ricks parents over for a game night/dinner after church.

Week in Review...

Here's Abby saying "cheese."

Haley had her final orchestra concert of the year. They did a great job! Haley moved from the 7th grade orchestra to the Advanced Orchestra this year, so she grew and developed her talent and love of playing the viola this year.
Ricks Grandpa Johnson passed away this week. He was 91 and still pretty much all there, he loved to talk about family history and family memories and family connections. He was all about family! Rick loved visiting with his grandparents when he was younger, they would often go visit them in L.A. once a month, they would go boating, scuba diving, playing at the beach and playing games. His grandparents (Johnsons) had a spa in their basement! So that was a fun thing for all of the family to come home from a day at the beach and relax in the spa. He has lots of fun memories with his Grandpa Johnson and he will surely be missed.

Abby says "no" so cute! I was trying to get her to say no on film.

Week in Review...

On April 26th it was Ricks birthday! Luckily we didn't get sick and everyone started feeling better that had been sick. But on Monday morning Abby started throwing up again and was sick until Wednesday, poor girl! She got it the worst. Rick had ribs for his birthday dinner and we ate the Boston Cream poke cake for dessert.
On May 2nd I took the kids while Rick stayed home with Abby and we went and saw our neighbor and friend in her jr high/high school play. It was a great production and very fun to watch, the talent was exceptional! This is Haley with her friend from down the street Savannah. She was the only 8th grader to make it into the play!

It has been such great weather this week that we have just been soaking it all up! Wonderful crisp and cold breezes make playing at the park so much fun! Abby says "cheeeeese" whenever I tell her I want to take her pic, it is the cutest! She is loving the swings right now.

Such a sweet face!
Too busy playing, to say cheese anymore.

On Saturday morning Rick took Ashlyn and Jacob down to a farm to pick peaches. As soon as they got home I just had to make a peach pie! It was my first time making one and it was so yummy!
Rick also bought me a big bouquet of flowers, so sweet!

Haley came home on Friday saying that she had received the STAAR award. All of the teachers get together and vote on 5 students from each grade level to receive this award at the end of the year. She was one of them! She received a $10 gift card to Target and this certificate, it stands for the Student Academic and Attitude Reward. Apparently she has a great attitude at school!:) She is doing great in Junior High!

I got spoiled like always with all of the gifts that I got for Mothers Day! I was made People's Mother of the Year by Ashlyn, Rick got me a charm necklace, M & M's, flowers, a bike basket and a water bottle holder for my bike, Jacob made me a cute picture and letter and I got lots of cards from all of the kids.

Peach picking...

It was a great Mothers Day! I am so thankful for a loving mother who taught me to honor and respect the role of mother and wife. It truly is the best calling that I've ever held. I love being a mom!
