Weekly Update...

This week has been so crazy!! I'm so glad that this week is over! If I had to go through this experience again I think I would've moved the whole fam to a hotel during the floor installation. It was messy, it was noisy and it was just plain crazy! We were stuck in my room during the day and then had no furniture in the whole house during the night so we were at a loss of what to do with ourselves. I'm so glad that's over! On Monday I took Abby into the dr and she had a double ear infection and they thought she had the flu but luckily she tested negative. Then on Wednesday night I woke up at midnight with extreme ear pain, I've never felt that kind of pain before. I tried everything to make it go away and nothing helped. I finally got into the dr at 11 am on Thursday and the dr said that I had an ear infection, gave me some antibiotics and told me to take Mucinex D to help alleviate the blockage in my ear. I'm typing this on Sunday morning and still have extreme pain in my ear, I'll be heading to Urgent Care soon. I never want to experience this again, I have so much more sympathy for my kids when they get ear infections, I never realized how much pain is involved!! Anyway, here is our new drywall, with texture.

This was after day 2 of installation...
Day 2...
Day 2...
Day 2...
Day 3...
And finally after 4 days, we were done!!

It's a wood looking tile that we just love! We just have to figure out how to clean it and keep it looking nice. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
We also had to figure out how to reinstall the toilet...it wasn't as hard as we thought it would be. It was actually pretty easy!
We are happy with the way that it turned out!

On Wednesday my baby Sister Sarah had a baby!! Macey Rae Ehlert, she is so beautiful like her momma and she already has hair for Sarah to style:) So excited to meet her one of these days!!

We are making progress!

We are starting to make some progress! Yesterday I pulled out the rest of the laminate flooring! I also took off all of the baseboards that I could get to.

We moved out all of our furniture into either the garage or the backyard. Luckily it isn't supposed to rain until next week, so hopefully we can get this all done before it does, our backyard looks like a yard sale!

See these two couches and piano, Rick wanted to leave them for the tile guys to move out. I woke up this morning and knew that the tile guys would be ticked off if we just left them in the room, so I moved them out myself. Yes! That piano alone weighs about a 1000 lbs!! No joke!! It was hard work getting it out the door, but I did! I'm never moving it again though, it either gets picked up by someone else or it will rot in my front yard! haha! The HOA will love that! It's funny though because every time someone walks by, or the workers are out front, they will play it!:)

We had the drywall done today and the tile is being removed as I type this. I am hearing a lot of pounding right now.

Weekly Update...

Somebody gave us this crocheted Minnie Mouse ears headband and Abby loves it, so cute!!
On Wednesday I woke up and was walking in our front room and suddenly I hear this squish, squish sound. I look down at my feet and I see water coming up through my floor boards (laminate flooring). After some investigating I found out that our dishwasher, new as of a week ago was leaking! I called our homeowners insurance co and they sent out some restoration guys, who immediately ripped out the wall and the floor and left us with these huge fans and humidifiers which were extremely loud. We had those fans on for two days!
Somehow a hose in the back of our dishwasher had slipped loose, probably while we had pushed the dishwasher into place and was gushing all into our wall and down into the floor. Luckily, we get a new wall and floor out of the deal!

We were supposed to have Activity Days at my house that day, so we moved it to the park. This actually worked out nicely because we were heart attacking our bishops house, who happens to live down the street from me and directly across from the park:).  The girls loved playing at the park after we were done.
Seeing those guys rip out the floor so fast, inspired me! Rick and I have been wanting a new floor for awhile now because we laid the laminate in our house about 4 years ago and it was warping and had huge gaps. So the next day, I ripped out our whole family room floor and hallway and started getting rid of the tile in our kitchen which we detest. It shows every little speck of dirt. Rick came home and was madder than mad at me! Apparently I had forgotten to tell him that I was going to demo our whole flooring and he wasn't happy. He forgave me though, because he is just as cheap as I am:) Man, it isn't cheap to have someone rip out your floor. It's messy though, so I think I will have someone rip out the rest of the tile, we will see though...

Abby went to nursery for the second time on Sunday, so I should've expected her to get sick. On Thursday, I noticed that Abby was extra cranky but I couldn't figure out why, then Abby woke up on Friday and was sicker than a dog:( Poor thing! Runny nose, cranky, tired, not fun! Saturday I had big plans to go pick out tile and instead I woke up sicker than a dog:(. hehe. I'm not sure how we will survive church if we don't put her in nursery, but this whole getting sick every time she goes is getting old fast!

My poor sick, cranky babe!
I think this is what we are going to go with though....it's a dark tile that looks like wood. I'm a little stressed out as to how this is all going to go down. I have daycare to run, a sick baby to take care of and somehow I need to have someone rip out floors, repair walls, put in floors and I need to have the furniture out so that they can do all of that. We will survive...:)

Week in Review...

Jacob took this picture of Abby last Sunday. She loves to stand up on our little window bench and walk around, push all the covers off and sing and shout:) She keeps us entertained.

On Wednesday Haley had New Beginnings, they did a Dr. Seuss themed night, Oh the places you'll go. It was really cute! They even had truffula trees!

They did a great job singing the new theme song for the year....

I took Abby in for her 18 month well check on Friday morning and she weighed in at 19.2 lbs and 32 inches tall. She is 3% for weight and 50% for height. Tall and super skinny. She is doing great, just need to focus on calorie rich and fat filled food for her. I wish I could be on that diet:)
