Rick got to meet one of the students that he enrolled who was graduating on campus. Even though this guy could have received a military discount, he chose to forego the discount in order to work with Rick. (Rick doesn't work with military enrollments). I think that's a huge credit to how great a job Rick is doing at Grand Canyon University! Now if he could just move on from the job, we would be happy! haha! BUT this was a huge highlight for him!
Abby loves to lay down on this huge dog that we have and say, "ah!!!" It's so cute!! Ashlyn sometimes does it with her and it was adorable!
Our pumpkin lady changed back into a man I guess....
Ricks parents wanted to come out for the Phoenix Temple Open House and we thought it would be a fun treat to surprise the kids! They were shocked when they opened the door! It was fun to surprise them:)
The tired but happy travelers!
Grandma Johnson trying to get Abby to warm up to her by playing sock puppet.
The kids came home on halloween with their fun treats and Ashlyn made this cute spider headband, which I ended up wearing that night for trick or treating.
All dressed up and ready to go trick or treating!
We had fun trick or treating while Rick fixed a flat tire that we found on the van:(. Bummer!
Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and set out for the Phoenix Temple. It was gorgeous!! It was very similar to the Gilbert Temple, except that instead of being patterned after the Agave plant like the Gilbert temple, the Phoenix temple has the theme and pattern of the Desert Aloe plant, so lots of dark wood with soft greens. Beautiful!
Haleys friend Alyssa came with us, it was fun to have her!
Abby just wanted to play in the water. Look, she's wearing shoes!!
What a fun experience!
ReplyDeleteI will say living in a state that has lots of mormons does have advantages-one of which is being able to go to temple open houses and seeing them every 20 minutes on a drive
