Week in Review...

Picture of the current YSA Bishopric for the Tri-Valley Region in California....
We celebrated Carrie's birthday at the park with a little cake. It was pretty cold, but we loved being outside.
Trying to keep the wind from blowing out the candles...

My sweet dad has been bishop of the Young Single Adult Ward for the last 3 years and is being released today. He has been such a good leader for the youth, he just loves being with them and they love him. I'm sure that the youth will miss him lots. My dad had so much traveling involved in this calling, the church building is in another town and so every meeting, every activity he had to travel long distances to and never complained. He led the youth with a young, energetic heart and I'm so blessed to call him my dad. Love you dad! And my mom served just as faithfully by his side, making the commutes to the church probably just as often and without complaining as well. She will be missed by the youth as well, they both did a great job!
My mom surprised him last week with this Birthday cake for my dad, his 70th birthday is coming up on the 18th and you would never know it! Look at how young he looks!! Love ya Daddy!
Ashlyn came home with several ribbons from her field day activities. She tied for first place on the mile! I think we may have a little track star on our hands, she loves to run!
I used to babysit for a little baby boy- I watched him from when he was 3 months old to just over a year old before I had to stop watching him because of my school hours. His dad would come and pick him up from me, because he worked nights. Tragically, this dad passed away this week leaving behind his wife and young son. Since I know the family pretty well, I helped with a lot of the funeral prep and was in charge of the luncheon. We spent 6 hours getting the church ready on Friday and then about 4 more hours doing the actual luncheon on Saturday. It was a labor of love and my heart is broken for my sweet friend who has lost her husband. Hold those you love tight!
Rick took Ashlyn and Jacob kayaking on Saturday, they were crazy and even got into the water!

Week in Review..

A couple of weeks ago Jacob was showing Carrie some magic tricks...
We had a preschool playdate at our house this week and somehow all of the toys, table, chairs, babies and stroller ended up on the trampoline. It was hilarious!

They celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday at preschool:)
I found this picture on Facebook when it showed up as a memory pic, this was at Ricks Grandparent Bailey's assisted living facility in Provo, Utah...
Abby also had a playdate at her friend Holly's house and they all played dress up, I love that she's going to these playdates and having these experiences. I never would have thought she would do this a year ago, she's grown so much in her confidence!
Haley got her license on Thursday, she's pretty excited! I'm cringing at our new insurance payments, ugh! Oh well, hopefully she will get a job in the summer:)
Ashlyn's volleyball team got 3rd out of 4 teams this year, it was rough to go from winning last season 1st place to 3rd place, but it's been a fun season for her.

Jacob got to go to Webeloree on Saturday, I thought it would be warm so I didn't send him with a coat. Whooops!
Luckily they kept the kids busy cleaning up and working on badges...

My family has been posting lots of old pics and they've been fun to look at....

Week in Review...

Last Sunday we had dinner with the Pauls at the park. Carrie made a yummy pulled pork! After dinner we checked out the park, Carrie had lots of fun:)

On Monday we went on a hike up to the Saddle of the Superstition Springs Mountain, it was a beautiful cold day. We loved it! The whole time Haley kept saying, we can't stop until we are on the mountain. I had to remind her each time, look around you, look how far we've come! We were on the mountain the whole time, but she felt like she wasn't on the mountain until we reached a certain point. It's so important to stay focused on where we are going, but also to realize how far we have come, enjoy the journey along the way and realize the accomplishments that we have made. When we reached where she wanted to go, we could see the whole valley, huh-we must've been on the mountain the whole time!

Abby loves playing with these magnet tiles, they get used every day and lots of different towers, homes, cars and trains are made. Love her imagination.
On Wednesday we had New Beginnings, Haley just got called as the Laurels President so she was in charge of conducting and played the piano for the Closing song. I also spoke about the strength that Personal Progress can have within our family. Ricks mom was in town, so we invited her and Rick's brother Rob's wife and step-daughter Christina.

Kim found this picture of Bryan's blessing day at Ronny's old home in Twin Falls, Idaho...Haley is sitting up front and I was pregnant with Ashlyn...
Since Rick's mom was in town and her birthday is next Tuesday we had a little pre-celebration at the new Pioneer Park in Mesa. Beautiful night for a picnic..

It was pretty cold, but of course the kids wanted to run through the splash pad! Crazy kids!

I had two sweatshirts on, it was so cold!!
