Two weeks in Review...

Yesterday we went to our neighbors high school play of Little Women, Savannah played "Amy" and did such a great job! It was fun to go and watch!
Our garden is blossoming! We just laid seed for grass all along the edges of the yard and had to lay down all sorts of netting because of the many birds that frequent our backyard.
It's so exciting to be able to have a garden and watch it grow. We are all loving the process!

Our orange tree is doing really good too!
Last Saturday Jacob attended day camp and was gone all day long! He had such a great time!

Moroni even came! The theme was on Book of Mormon heroes!

It looks like a beautiful place for a camping spot!

Last Thursday Ricks parents came to town because Haley was in her special Junior High Festival Orchestra concert. They performed at the Mesa Arts Center and while we were waiting to go inside we found these awesome red chairs! They spin like a top!

They were so fun!

Rick took his parents out on Saturday for some kayaking! They had lots of fun!

Can you see the heron?
This was the only shot that I got of Haley after her concert, too bad it is blurry.
One night we had dinner at Robs house and the kids always love riding in the car...

Rick skateboarding...

Abby likes to hide away in this little cupboard that we got for outside balls...

I wrote this as my Facebook status this last week..
I have to apologize to anyone that I've offended in the last few weeks with texts. Apparently my phone has been sending out the exact opposite emoji that I thought I was sending out! A few weeks ago my daughter sent me a text about how she wasn't feeling good, so I sent her a sad emoji. It had a tear rolling down it's face. She texted me back, why is that funny? Why are you laughing??? My phone showed a sad face, but when she got home she showed me her phone and it showed a laughing face!! Then today I texted my husband a laughing face and he asked why I was sad????!!!! Crazy iphone!!

Last Sunday our stake boundaries were changed to make each ward a little bit smaller. We were nearing the maximum # in each ward and so they took about 20% of our ward away:(. The neighborhood that got moved away consisted of a lot of people who have been in the ward for 20+ years and were very sad. It will be interesting to see what happens because we lost a lot of callings and now we need to absorb them which will mean double callings for a lot of people. One hope that we do have though is that they're building a new neighborhood of homes that are in our ward, so we are hoping that new member families will move into those homes:). Change is hard sometimes.

Rick is loving being Ashlyn's soccer coach. They lost their first game but won their second game, and the kids are learning and growing.

Week in Review...

We had another very full and busy week! On Monday we had dentist appointments for Ashlyn, Jacob and Abby. Abby screamed the whole time that the dentist was looking at her teeth and so of course she has cavities on her molars and they need to sedate her in order to get any work done on her. The cost for the sedation is $700, no insurance allowed. Plus the cost of the work that needs to be done. This is Jacob all over again:(. I'm looking for a cheaper route, I brush her teeth every night, so I was surprised to hear this news. On Tuesday morning Ashlyn woke up and she was white as a ghost, I thought she was either going to faint or throw up. She had her Zaharis Idol performance that day, so I know she felt really bad about waking up sick. She had to rush to the toilet a few times, but she never threw up. She was determined to not let her friends down and to go to school. I was amazed by her persistence and will power. She literally forced herself to eat breakfast and go to school. Luckily she made it through the day without incident and performed well in her performance! She told me at the end of the day that her friends kept telling her that she looked pale:). That afternoon I needed to take Haley into the dentist and I had all of the kids with me, so we decided to just stay in the car and wait. Her appt took longer than the previous day where I had 3 appts! Argh! We hurried home and took Haley over to the Stake Center where they were doing a fundraiser for camp, then went home had dinner and rushed Ashlyn out the door to her night Zaharis Idol performance. She did a great job and we got it all on video! Way to go Ashlyn!

On Easter Ashlyn received this Owl necklace watch, and she took some pictures to show it off.

This was our Easter day picture...
On Saturday Rick took Ashlyn out kayaking. They had a fun time out on the river...

They saw lots of hawks!
One point was very shallow...

They had a great time together!

Abby loved having the Easter bunny out again...

The kids dyed Easter Eggs the night before Easter...

On Wednesday night we had a Camp kickoff event and Haley was honored for having received her YW medallion, she received a certificate and a beautiful gerber daisy.

She was the youngest out of the group, the rest of the girls were Juniors or Seniors in High School.
Abby couldn't wait to wear her new bathing suit, so she wore it on the day that I got it!

Watching General Conference this morning....coloring with Abby.
