Easter!!

I reupholstered this chair for the living room. It took me over a week just to get the old fabric off because there were literally thousands of staples. It was a nightmare! I still need to finish it up, but for now at least we can sit on it and it looks pretty.
I made this St. Patricks day cake for our annual St. Patricks Day feast with our neighbors.
Abby grabbed this hat and put it on this way, it was so cute!

We got a yummy treat in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Hahn! So sweet! Abby couldn't wait to dig in!
On Friday the kids had the day off, so our neighborhood had it's annual easter egg hunt. Abby didn't quite get it, she was excited just to find an egg and then wanted to just hold it in her hand, she didn't want to put it in her basket or keep looking for more eggs.

She loved holding her basket though, she thought that was really cool.

She thought it was super cool when we opened the eggs and discovered what was inside!

Easter morning before the hunt!

Abby thought it was so fun, although she didn't care to much for looking for eggs.

Rick got Abby dressed and did her hair! She looked so darling!

We also went to the Mesa Easter Temple Pageant which was wonderful as always!
Abby loves to skip everywhere she goes, which reminds me of Ashlyn. I couldn't get her to skip for the video, so I had Rick remind her of what skipping is. Subsequently because of this video we had to take the pool down because Abby figured out how to pull herself up on the pool and almost got it in! She knows how to open the back door, so it was too much of a risk.

Abby loves this Easter bunny, she squeals and dances with it. So cute!
Rick had to fix up the Scouts go carts because the tires were old and needed to be replaced. So once he was done, the kids wanted to try it out.

He also had to fix up the Scouts bottle rocket launcher, so they had to test out that as well:)

Spring Break!

We drove down to San Diego on Wednesday morning and it just so happened to be my dads birthday and they were in San Diego in port for the day during their cruise! I haven't been able to see my dad on his actual birthday for probably between 16-17 years! So we picked him and my mom up from port and we went to Mc Donald's for lunch. We made them both cards, birthday cards for my dad and just I love you cards for my Mom!
We sang Happy Birthday to my dad!

Then we took them over to the Mormon Battalion because they had never been, it is quite the treat!

Ashlyn volunteered to be the volunteer and try on the gear that the Mormon battalion wore on their trek.

Then we got to pan for gold!

Then we walked up to the tower and took pics of mom and dad!

Mom and Dad liked these rocking chairs! They said that while they were in Hawaii they had found similar rocking chairs and rocked away while they people watched and enjoyed the weather. Sounds relaxing to me!

Then we sang Happy Birthday to my dad again and ate homemade oreo cookies to celebrate his birthday! My parents are so funny, my mom is always doing something that makes my dad laugh hysterically. They are always making each other laugh and it is so fun to be with them. I just love them both so much! I'm so glad that they were able to go on this cruise and relax!

Then we dropped them back off at port and drove over to our hotel. The next morning we set out to rent some bikes and ride along the beach but we couldn't find any parking anywhere near the bike rental place so we decided to just walk along the beach. We were so bummed that we hadn't brought our swimming suits because it was the perfect time of day to be at the beach. It was sunny and warm. Abby absolutely loved playing in the sand and then when we introduced her to the water she would scream every time we tried to take her away from the water! She is a beach baby for sure!

Then a nice English guy walked by and offered to take our family picture. That was so nice!

Rick dropped me off at the hotel so that Abby could take a nap and took the other kids back to the beach to boogie board. That night we went to Applebees for dinner and then we went back to the beach and found a fun park for the kids to play at. We were going to go back to the beach on Friday morning before we left, but it was a rough night for sleeping so we just decided to head home. It was a fun short trip and we were so grateful to be able to spend some time with my parents!

Some people in our ward were moving out and offered us this pool that they couldn't take with them. We decided to set it up before we left for San Diego, and then we filled it when we got home. The kids couldn't wait to swim in it. They're already loving it!

Rick took the kids to the park and Abby loved this horse.
