Week in Review...

Abby's special ed teacher has the cutest dog named Phoebe, who she often talks about during the day with Abby. So when her teacher asked if anyone would be willing to watch her during spring break, we were very quick to respond. We had her bring her dog over to see if she would get along with our dog Kyler last Sunday. She's so cute and got along great with Kyler. We are excited to watch her soon, Abby loved having her teacher come to our house.

On Tuesday it was 2-22-22, and I happened to look at my phone at 2:22 as I was walking out of school...
On Thursday I woke up and went to leave and my car was frozen shut. My windshield had ice on it and I was at a loss as to what to do. Rick poured warm water over my windshield and I was able to use my wipers to clear it off, it was crazy for warm Arizona!
I only have 3 days left in my 4th grade classroom, on Monday and Tuesday I will be the full time teacher. I'm nervous, but excited also.

Ashlyn and her team got 1st place on Friday night! Yay!!

Abby got to go celebrate with the neighbors with Cake for Presidents day!

They were selling flowers at the winter guard event on Friday so Ashlyn got flowers!

My mom and dad had a great time on their cruise from Baltimore down to Nassua, they had stops in Florida and got to go to the Kennedy Space Station and South Carolina where they took a tour of the Citadel. It's always fun seeing their pictures and videos, I'm so glad that they're enjoying life!

Such a beautiful couple!

I have my first teacher interview on Tuesday at a school down the road called Sandra Day O'Connor Elementary. I'm super nervous to interview. My first choice would be at a school called Falcon Hill Elementary, my dream job would be to stay at Zaharis but I'm not sure that will happen. Lot's happening this week!

Week in Review...

Jacob made me these paper roses for Valentines Day! So sweet!

Ashlyn and Abby went to our neighbors house to make Valentine's cookies!

We had a 4th grade exploration wax museum on Thursday and I had to dress up, so I chose Jeanne Baret who disguised herself as a man in order to board a ship and circumnavigate the world exploring plants. She must've been so brave and obviously well liked because even when it was discovered that she was a woman the marine company still gave her a pension.

Abby even got to come to the exploration experience!

Winter guard got their outfits!

Week in Review...

 Abby's cute hair today!

We had an amazing RS lesson today about how we can all create something extraordinary by serving each other. It was a powerful lesson. She gave us each these square pieces of paper to cut out (time) for serving.
Our neighbor had puppies again, and we are so tempted to get one! They're so cute!!
Ashlyn had her first competition yesterday and it was actually at a school pretty close, so I was able to go watch. They did amazing!!

I can't remember if I posted that Jacob is working in the cafeteria at school during his lunch period. He loves it so much and he's been earning money, which is great. I have it immediately deposited into the bank so he can't spend it, which is even better. I'm not sure if I mentioned that he was put in as the teachers president a few weeks ago, he loves serving his teachers quorum. Pretty proud of this sweet boy!
I taught 2 lessons this week, one of which was recorded. It went OK, I've still got lots to learn but I'm happy to have that recorded lesson over with! 2 1/2 more weeks to go and then I switch over to special ed.

Week in Review...

Rick got to go kayaking on Saturday, he said it felt great getting out there again! It's been a few months because the river has been too low.

Rick was reppin the '49ers last weekend, we were sad they lost...
I got to go to a Literacy conference at my school on Saturday. It was an all day event from 8:30-3:30, and I learned a lot and got to meet an amazing author...

I also got to attend a class put on by 2 of Jacob's old teachers and Abbys current teachers...
Christina Soontornvat is an amazing author, we are reading this book as a read-a-loud in class and it's based off of the play Les Miserables, so of course I love it and had to read ahead and finish it. She's amazing!

Abby got to celebrate the Lunar New Year Feast at school...

It was a tough week because my mentor teacher was out with Covid, so I was the teacher all week. Luckily the kids were really good and I had a sub with me to assist and co-teach with me. Abby was sick on Thursday and Friday and I was freaking out because I've maxxed out my days off and Rick just started a new job, so we had Jacob stay home with her on Thursday but he can't miss anymore days either. We decided that we would leave her home alone on Friday and have neighbors check on her, both neighbors that I asked to come and check on her offered to have her stay at their home on Friday. I can't tell you how relieved I was when I knew that she was being watched over, prayers were answered. I'm so grateful for neighbors who step in when I need them. I couldn't have survived this week without them.
