Week in Review..02-23-2020

It was a big week this week! Abby decided that she wanted to learn how to ride a bike and Rick took her to the park and she learned in about 5 minutes! So fun! The next day her friend across the street decided she wanted to learn too, so she learned the next day and her younger brother did as well. Now they have a little biker gang going at the park everyday. She loving riding her 2 wheeler bike all around.

My friend and I were talking about how much we dislike going to the dentist and then I saw this on Facebook and thought it was funny.

Ashlyns so lucky! She got to go to Disneyland with her Schools Orchestra, and have a performance review with Disney. Pretty cool!

Haley took this at Seminary, she's so lucky to get to go to seminary everyday. What a blessing!

Week in review...

We met up with Carrie at the park a few times this last week, we always love seeing the babies!

One of the girls Young Women leaders decorated our front door on Valentines Day,  so sweet!!

Haley saw this ad at school on Thursday, applied right away and got hired a few hours later! She had her first day yesterday and worked for 9 hours! She loved it! She prepped food, and helped wherever they needed her, then cleaned up. Another girl from her school also works there.

Our neighbor had a cookie decorating party on Friday and the kids loved it. Valentines day was crazy at school! So interesting how sugar makes the kids act crazy. Saturday Rick and i went out for a mexican meal, it was yummy!

Week in Review...

On Tuesday Abby had a special presentation at her class, and she read a book to the whole class and a room full of parents!! I was so surprised and excited. I took a video of the whole thing, but I was adjusting the volume during it and apparently that shuts off the video, so I missed the whole thing, ugh!! Oh well, there will be other times.

On Saturday Abby had a cake decorating class. She brought home this cute cake and cake stand! So cute!

And since she made it, she felt like she could lick it! haha!

Haley curled her hair on Sunday, it looked so pretty. She's never been able to get curls to stick...

Jacob had his science fair on Monday, he did a great job with his volcanos....

I took a walk during a break today at work and it had recently rained. The desert smells so good after it rains, I was just so in awe of the beauty....

Ashlyn went with the Weidmans to Quartsite to the rock fair that they have there. They had a fun time...

The kids took this picture of all of the teachers on the wall, can you find me??

Week in Review...

This week was a crazy one! On Thursday night I left in a van full of 6 girls and drove to Wickenburg, a town about an hour 1/2 away from us, we stayed in a motel and got up at 4 a.m. to start our Ragnar del Sol relay race. I didn't get any sleep in the motel and was so tired. Our first runner had to run 9 miles straight up a mountain, a super tough leg. It was freezing cold!! I was the 4th runner and it started heating up, super warm. I ran 6.5 miles and all of the runners were so encouraging. There were so many vans decorated so creatively. One van had lights all over the outside of it, at night it was really cool to see. Our van finished running around noon, and we left to go get lunch and some rest. We rested at a high school where the next big exchange would happen, but there was a softball game going on and it was really loud. So we just did some yoga to stretch ourselves out. The last runner of van 2 had to run 11 miles! She's an ironman athlete, so it was no big deal for her. Amazing!! We then took off running again around 7 p.m. and my leg came up around 11:30 p.m. which is crazy for me to even be up that late, let alone running 5.3 miles! It turned out that I had the scary leg, where I had to run down this deserted road, with cement on each side of me with graffiti and trash all over the place and pure darkness all around me. It was terrifying, and i was so scared. Luckily that helped me to run really fast through it, and i was so grateful to be out of there. The next 4 miles was straight uphill, so that was tough. Our van finished running around 2 a.m. and we were exhausted and freezing. We were supposed to sleep inside of a high school gym, but we were too tired to get out of the van, so we slept in the van. I couldn't sleep because I'm a light sleeper and with 6 women, it wasn't quiet in the van. hahaha. So 2 nights of no sleeping, ugh. We had to start running again around 5:30am and I ended up running my last leg around 8:55 a.m. and ran 2.7 miles, that was a beautiful run through farms and there were hot air balloons and mountains all around me. Cave Creek is a beautiful city, kind of the scottsdale of farm towns. I was so happy to be done! We then drove to Mesa and ate lunch and started watching Little Women but van 2 finished before we thought they would, so we had to race out of the theater where we met the rest of the team and ran through the finish line together. It was an amazing experience, one that I'll never forget. I learned that I can push myself harder than I ever thought and survive. Between both vans we ran 200 miles! So crazy!
The medals we got for the 12 of us created a puzzle when they're all put together and each medal says something different, Mine says Achieve the Impossible which was definitely true for me!

Jacob and Abby playing at the park while waiting for me to finish the race....

Ashlyn's friend drew this for Abby....

I did it!!!

Thankful for a husband who supported me doing this crazy experience. I actually only did it because he said that I should. I didn't initially believe that i could, but he believed in me. He's the best! I'm grateful he took care of the kids, and I didn't have to worry about a thing while I was away.

Today Rick is wearing his 49ers gear for Super bowl Sunday.

Haley played the organ today and did an amazing job. She was very nervous, but she did a great job!!!
