Week in Review...

Last Saturday while I took the three oldest kids to the Sound of Music, Rick took Abby to a splash pad. She was very sad when we all left, so I was worried about her. But she had a great time with Rick and got lots of fun time together.
She gets cold so fast in the water, she is a true Arizona baby!

On Monday night for FHE, we made our annual pumpkin man. Ashlyn had to get a selfie...

He's feeling the heat, so he's kind of slumped down:)

Here are the kids school pics...

There was a storytime trick or treat at our library this week and so Abby got dressed up as Anna from Frozen. Her braid came out while we were trick or treating, so I just put in a ponytail, because that's how we roll...
She was so shy but so brave at the same time, she wouldn't allow me to hold the bag. She had to hold the bag and she even opened the bag, she refused to smile or say trick or treat, but I consider it a victory overall.
This was her face the whole time....of course when we got home she was talking non-stop about it and how much fun she had, but you would never tell by looking at her...
So cute! I'm so glad that I was able to take her, I was watching a daycare baby but he was sleeping and Haley was home sick, so I just told her to text me if the baby woke up while i was gone and luckily I was only gone for 30 minutes and he didn't wake up. Win!

Week in Review...

This week was a very busy week!! Rick had his first big event that they were hosting, I got to help him shop for decorations for the party. He was so cute and got a pinterest account to help him with ideas. I think it turned out great! They have these networking events every month and once a quarter they have to host, so this will be a regular thing. Here are some pics before the event started...
They dipped rice krispy treats in chocolate and they also made these super cute smores, where they had a graham cracker square, put melted chocolate on it and then melded marshmallows together to make it look like a ghost and then plopped a stick into the marshmallow. It was really cute.
You can kind of see them in this pic, stuck into the pumpkin...he said it turned out really good.
Here's a pic from last weekend at the Celebrate Mesa event...
I've started a ward workout group each morning. I just look on pinterest for workout ideas and we try them, so far so good...it's good motivation for me to get up and workout because I know people are depending on me being there.
One day this week I needed to drop something off for Rick at work and Abby fell asleep in the car. I was waiting for him to come and get it in the parking lot and right next to their building are these little apartment homes and one has this super cute chimney. It has a pot at the top, so cute!
I got this pic from a leader from Haley's hike a few weekends ago for youth conference. They had fun!
My mom and dad went to Disneyland this last week and had a good time. They're too cute!
I miss them!!
Yesterday I got to take my three oldest kids to see The Sound of Music at ASU Gammage. It was great!

Fall Break

We had a very eventful fall break! Ricks parents were with us until they left on Wednesday. On Tuesday we went to the Childrens museum in Phoenix which was a lot of fun. Abby is so extremely shy though that she didn't have too much fun. If she feels like people are watching her, she crawls into her shell and won't come out. I used my mother skills and sent her up into the big tree house with Haley, so she could be herself for a little bit and have fun. It's heartbreaking having a child that's extremely shy, I know that she wants to play with these amazing exhibits because as soon as she thinks no one is watching she starts to play and has such a fun imagination. I just worry about her, Jacob was the same way and eventually around kindergarten started to feel more comfortable with attention. I'm starting to think it might be an even longer process with Abby. So anyway, we are working on it. We started watching Zoey the dog on Monday night while her family went to San Diego, so the kids were really excited about that. I also bought some skates for Abby at Savers and she loved trying them, she's really young for them but she loved trying it.

This is Ricks partner in crime at work, he's the community outreach guy and they work together a lot. Here he is posing for a pic for an Alzheimers event they're hosting, trying to educate people that exercise helps.
On Saturday night the City of Mesa hosted a Celebrate Mesa event, where they bring in all of these booths and rides, etc. Haley and her friend Alyssa took Ashlyn, Jacob and Emilie from down the street, they had fun. Since it's right across the street from our neighborhood we took Abby over for a little bit.

When we were walking home the moon was amazingly huge and brilliantly yellow. I tried to get a pic but my dang phone is a lousy camera. It was spectacular though!

On Friday I took the kids and Alyssa to IKEA, they love that store and I needed a few things...it was a fun trip.
On Saturday morning the baby that I watch Griffin had his 1st birthday party. It was very cute!

If you can see that little light speck in the picture that is Ricks drone. It was $25 at Costco and he loves it. It's very tricky to fly, but it keeps him happy.

Here are the kids at the Childrens museum...

She was also very tired and didn't want to leave the museum...

On Wednesday I took Ashlyn and Jacob over to the rec center so they could rock climb...they loved it!

Abby and I tried to entertain ourselves...

Ashlyn likes to try the hardest routes...

Last weekend the older youth in our ward had a youth conference. On Friday night they went to the Gilbert temple to perform baptisms for the dead, Haley took 45 family names. She is amazing! She loves doing family history work. Now we need to complete the work for those 45 names!
Ashlyn also had a soccer game on Saturday morning and she did a great job! They didn't have enough players to do subs, so they all had to play the whole time. They were pretty exhausted when it was over.
Jacob took Abby over to the park while Ashlyn played soccer...

We are also taking care of our neighbors Tortoise while they're away for the week. Man oh man would i never get a tortoise! They're constantly trying to get climb up the walls, so they flip over and they die if they're on their back for too long. Creeps me out!!
Here's the crew before heading over to the Celebrate Mesa event last night...

They had some pretty cool cars there...

Trying to get a pic of the moon...

The kids came home with their faces painted, Jacob got a spider...
Ashlyn got an angel to match her costume...
