Week in Review...

This week was a busy one! On Monday we got a call from a company that Rick had been interviewing with and was told that he got the job! It was a position that he had hesitated even showing up for the interview for because he didn't  think he had a chance! He is going to be the new Director of Marketing and Sales and Courtyard Towers in downtown Mesa. It's an assisted living facility, and it's a big one! 14 stories tall! This is his dream job, the executives are taking a chance on him and he's so excited!! We are on cloud 9 right now! He starts September 6th! He's really nervous and he's still having a lot of health issues, so he's nervous about not having health insurance for 90 days, so please keep him in your prayers!

On Tuesday it was Madeline's 2nd birthday, she's one of my daycare kids. Her mom sent her with cupcakes for everyone, they had a fun time having a little birthday party.

On Thursday it was my birthday! My friends came over for lunch and we had firehouse subs and one of my friends bought a huge Chocolate round cake from Costco! Yum!! Rick and Jacob drew in our garage while I was out that day...

Abby and Rick playing in the sprinklers.
Rick got me a running belt that holds little water bottles and my phone so I don't have to hold anything while I run and a cooling pillow and this awesome wooden box to hold my essential oils.
Here's what was left of the cake that we had for dessert...

Abby loved the cake...
It was a great day! I love being able to talk to most of my siblings on my birthday, it is something that I look forward to every year!!

On Saturday we had a Stake Activity days event, it was fun to see all of these young girls together. They learned about Prayer and Journaling, 2 very special things in my life!

Week in Review...

Last Saturday night Rick took the kids to a Rattlers game which is indoor arena football. They took the train down to Phoenix and walked to the arena. They didn't last more than 20 minutes inside the game because it was deafening loud. Sad! They were blowing off canons and they just couldn't handle the noise. The train ride was interesting as well, very interesting people and things going on that Rick says he doesn't feel comfortable taking it anymore, at least at night. Sad! So they ended up exploring downtown Mesa, where they felt much safer...here they are at the Mesa Arts Center where Haley has performed and it is has the spinning red chairs..

They went out to ice cream too...
One night this last week I went to run errands and Rick sent me this pic of the kids playing in the sprinklers...

Rick and I went on a date to Top Golf, we love that place! It was so much fun with just the two of us this time and we hit some far balls!

Sunday has turned into family board game day, the kids love playing games with Rick. Some of their favorites are Rummikub and Phase 10.

We got a 3D printing pen for a super low price to try it out for an honest review and Ashlyn has loved making little projects with it.
I had Activity days this week and we had a back to school pool party, this is always a fun time!
Abby hit her foot on something and so here she is being taken care of by her older brother and sister. She was being pampered!!

I received these two nightstands for free from a lady in our ward who is moving and I chalk painted them. They turned out pretty cute!

All of the kids are enjoying school so far this year and daycare is going well!

Week in Review...

This is actually a 2 week catch up! Last weekend we went to check out Top Golf, it was fun! We tried to hit targets out on the field and Rick actually got a pretty good score for our first time out!

Last week it was our 16th Wedding Anniversary and Rick got me these beautiful roses and chocolates! So beautiful and so yummy!
Rick took the 3 younger kids to Bahama Bucks for a starting back to school treat!

The week before school started the kids were spoiled by a  neighbor friend, they got to go have dinner at the movie theater while they saw The secret life of pets and then they got to go get ice cream.
They had fun!
I got the girls matching pjs and Ashlyn didn't know about it until she woke up and she was so excited! Abby is saying cheese in this pic!

Before school started we went to Riverview park for one last hurrah! It just happened to be a beautiful, warm and overcast day! Perfect for playing at the park and the splash pad!

I even got to ride on the zip line for the first time!

Abby even braved it for the first time!

Ashlyns good friend Emilie and her family came too!

Pic that I dug out for our Anniversary...
We have had a few pleasant days here and there, so we always jump at playing at the park when the weather is nice! Here's our neighbor friend Ben who loves playing with Abby. He's the one that started calling her, Abby babby boo!

He's Ashlyns age, so they have fun playing too...

Great group of friends on our street!

This is the little guy that is almost like a son to me...I watch him about 30-40 hours a week!
I'm so lucky to have this guy by my side! We make a great team! Abby wanted to be part of the pic!

Rick helping to teach Jacob...

One day Abby watched me put on my mascara and then ran out of the room, she later ran in and said, "I look pretty!!" it was so funny! Apparently she found Haley's makeup. I remember my mom doing this same thing to me when she thought I had put on too much eyeliner, it was hilarious!
Haley woke up super grumpy before her first day of high school, she didn't want to take a pic.....
Semi-smiling, such a stinker! She had a great first day of high school, she loves it! She gets to start out her day with A hour Seminary so that's awesome too!
Ashlyn has Mrs. Passey for 5th grade who was my first friend in Arizona and who was the RS president that I worked under before I had Abby. She is a great teacher and Ashlyn has loved being in her class this week. Jacob has Mrs. Rothlisberger who has a huge tree house in her classroom, so of course he is loving school!
Daycare started up again and Abby is in heaven having her friends back!
I have wanted to paint these cabinets for a very  long time and I finally did!

I put a light gray chalk paint on it and Rick added the handles. I think it looks great!

Abby's favorite outfit is the one that Grandma Hahn got her for her birthday. She even sleeps with it clutched in her hands! She's so funny!

It's been a great few weeks! I've decided to go back to school to get my teacher certification! It's going to be a crazy adventure, but it's something that I've always wanted to do and so here we go:)
