Birthday Week!

It was a busy week! On Tuesday night Ashlyn had her soccer game, she did great!

It's been chilly here, so we decided to have a fire in the fire pit:)

I got out all of the Christmas decor and Abby was so excited! She loves this musical box with skaters that ice skate around a big Christmas tree.

Wednesday was a busy day! I was in charge of a combined Activity days activity and it was Ashlyn's 10th birthday! She took small powdered donuts to share with her class. She requested lemon meringue pie and spaghetti. She also had soccer practice that night and her coach brought cupcakes! Ashlyn is a sweetheart, she has a very tender heart and is a great sister to her siblings and a big help to her parents. We are glad that she is in our family.
She got some clothes, shoes, a watch, gift cards and $.

Thursday night Haley had her piano recital. She was the second to the last student and there were 32 students! She did a great job!

The YW put out this sign on her birthday and we got a lot of honks! It was cute!
On Saturday it was Haley's 14th birthday, she started the day by getting Krispy Kreme donuts and hot chocolate at Starbucks. She also got a free firehouse sub for her birthday and Cold Stone ice cream for dessert! Haley is very talented musically and academically and we are grateful she is in our family!

Haley got a lava lamp, a new coat, a Dr Who necklace and Just Dance Disney 2.

Week in Review...

This Wednesday was Veterans Day and the kids had the day off from school. We didn't do anything special, just mainly chores and the kids played at the park. There were lots of awesome veteran pictures posted on Facebook and my Dad sent me this pic to post as well...
This is my Nana and Papa, my dad's parents. Herbert and Fern Hahn. The cool thing about this picture is that the original is actually in front of a house, but my brother photoshopped the ship behind them! So grateful for his service in the Marines and all those that have served and are serving.
Haley had YW in Excellence on Wednesday night and they each talked about a project that they are working on or have worked on with a mentor. I was her mentor and we talked about how she gave service to families in the ward by babysitting/helping them during sacrament when their spouse wasn't able to attend church that day. At the beginning it was hard for her to do, because she was used to sitting with her family, but over time she became more comfortable and was able to serve lots of families in our ward.  She's almost passed off all of her Personal Progress, she just has to finish reading the Book of Mormon and she will be done!

Week in Review...

It's the girls birthday month and all they wanted to do for 6 months was go ice skating for their birthday! Haley had never been and Ashlyn had been once just a few months ago. They each invited one friend to go with them and they had a great time. They caught on really fast and had fun. They were freezing though! Next time they will bring bigger jackets and gloves!
Here is Haley with her best friend Alyssa...
Here's the whole group, Ashlyn brought her best friend Emilie.

And they're off...

They ice skated for 2 hours but Ashlyn said it felt like a 1/2 hr because it was so much fun! I'm glad that we stopped at 2 hours though because poor Emilie's hands were frozen!! They had a great time and as soon as they were done they wanted slushies!! haha! My Arizona girls!

Friday is my day off from daycare and so we cleaned Abby's room and pulled out all of her winter clothes and of course Abby had to pretend like she was a little baby again:)

Week in Review...

Abby loves to play on this bar at the park doing her little tricks!

Last Friday night, the night before Halloween we went on a fun group date! We went out to dessert at Bahama Bucks and got shaved ice and then went and saw a comedy show at the National Comedy Theater. It was fun! Halfway through the show I started to have a non-stop runny nose and I was pretty miserable, but I still laughed and had a good time as much as I could.
We went with our good friends the Weidmans and the Chapmans.

The next day was halloween and I was in bed for most of the day, just exhausted and wiped out with a runny nose, congestion and a headache:( No fun! Here's abby chalk drawing on the patio...
Rick carving our pumpkin...
I finally started feeling a little bit better so I decided to take the kids trick or treating with Rick and Haley handed out candy before she left to watch a movie with her friends Alyssa Chapman and Savannah Brown.

Ricks creation...it's a bat!
These are from our ward party, Rick got better pics than me.

Both Ashlyn and Haley made it on the honor roll!
