Last Sunday Abby was 18 months and went to nursery for the first time.....then on Wednesday she started throwing up! Yup, those dang nursery germs! She's hardly been sick at all her whole life and bam, she goes to nursery and gets sick:(. So sad!!! She was sick, Wed, Thurs and Friday! SO I decided not to subject her to nursery again this week, for her sake and for the other kids sakes. Poor girl! She's normally a very happy, easy going baby and we just love her.
Here she is cuddling with me, poor baby. I don't mind the snuggles though!
On Saturday she was feeling much better and wanted to walk in her daddy's shoes:).
This week we had to replace our dishwasher and over the range microwave. Both appliances took a few hours each to install, so glad to have that done and over with. Just in case you are in the market for a new dishwasher, don't spend an hour crying and and shrieking at the top of your lungs like I did because your new dishwasher doesn't come with a plug. None of them do!!! So crazy!! Luckily we still had our old dishwasher and an electrician neighbor who was able to wire our old plug to our new dishwasher. We were about to take our new dishwasher back to the store, after having tried to install it for a few hours!! Luckily I called Lowe's and they told me that all of the new dishwashers don't come with a plug, it's something that you have to buy in addition to the dishwasher now, which is absolutely ridiculous! Ok, rant over. But just FYI.
Ashlyn submitted a story that she wrote about immigration to a writing contest. Her teacher asked me for permission to submit it. Ashlyn has a great creative mind, she also inherited an amazing memory from her papa Hahn. She can remember memories and details from many years back and can even remember things that she technically shouldn't remember, being that she was only 2-3 years old! She always amazes me at what she can remember. She is also a great helper to me, if I'm trying to get something done and Abby is pulling on my leg and crying because she wants to be held, Ashlyn will come and get Abby and distract her. She sees something that needs to be done and does it. I'm very grateful to her and her helpful spirit, she reminds me of my sister Carrie:) Ok, all my sisters are like that, but I think that I fully took advantage of Carrie growing up. She was always at my beck and call when I needed her, she has a very giving spirit.
We took Jacob to the eye dr this week because his right eye is constantly blinking. It turns out that he has better than perfect eye sight, but may have a dry eye. So we are going to try some eye drops to see if they will help.
The weather has been so beautiful here that the kids have been spending hours after school down at the park. Luckily we have lots of great neighbors with kids that are also playing at the park, so I can get some work done at the house, or get dinner ready while they play. I love being able to have the windows open and fresh air coming into the house. This is my favorite time of year!

First Sunday in Nursery!!
Here are the snow pics that I couldn't upload last week...
Today was this little cuties first week in Nursery! I was so nervous and anxious for her and for her teachers! I thought for sure she would scream the whole time and that I would have to sit in there for weeks and weeks before she felt comfortable.....boy was I wrong!! All of my kids have had a terrible time transitioning into nursery, and since she's only been babysit once I thought she would have a rough time. Rick dropped her off while I waited outside in the hall and he quickly left the room. We waited in the hall for the screams....but they never came. My friend is the nursery leader and she said that she cried for a few seconds and so she picked her up and held her, but then she wanted to get down and play with her toys. Rick went by a little later to check on her and he said she was sitting at the snack table and looked fine. Hallelujah!! All that worrying for nothing and I was finally able to enjoy Sunday school and Relief Society without having to chase after my cute toddler.
She loves to give us this big cheesy grin when she's really happy and it's hilarious!
She squints her eyes and gives the biggest cheesy grin, so cute!
So proud of her! When I saw her after church she came running to me and then suddenly stopped and pointed to her diaper. Yep she had a wet diaper, here's hoping that she'll be ready to potty train soon:) hehe!!

Week in Review...
Proof that there was snow in Arizona! I have more pics of snow on our car but for some reason I can't upload pics from my phone today. I'll try again soon. This week we got back into the swing of going to school and all of our activities. Haley switched from being in intermediate orchestra to the Concert Orchestra class which she is so excited about, she also started a new class, beginning guitar. Her guitar teacher loves her! She has caught on very quickly this week and likes to play a game with her. He will turn his back to the class so that they can't see his fingers playing and he plays a song on the guitar. He then turns around and has Haley play it too. She is able to play the song back to him without seeing any music or even knowing any notes. She has a talent for being able to listen to a song and then immediately play it back. I wish I had this talent!! So anyway, her dream is to become an orchestra teacher, she knows how to play the viola, violin, piano, and is now learning the guitar and ukelele. Anything music and she is in heaven!
Rick moved to a new team at Grand Canyon University. For the last almost 6 years he has been enrolling students into their College of Education major. He is now enrolling almost ALL degrees, which makes it more interesting for him and he is enjoying it so far. He is also having great success, which makes me happy. Having a happy husband makes me a happy wife! He's still actively looking for another job, but for now I'm just happy that he is happy and counting my blessings:)

Week in Review...
Jacob and Ashlyn went bungee jumping, they loved it! Haley decided she was too cool to do any fun activities.
I think it's so weird that Rick and I are both alumni of this school and yet we've hardly ever stepped foot on the campus! Rick took me on a tour just so I can say that I've seen it:) Here we are holding our "lopes up" sign, Grand Canyon University's mascot is the Antelope. It was a fun night!
On New Years Eve Haley went to a friends house and Ashlyn and Jacob made a fort in our front room. They wanted to sleep in it all night, but finally decided that it would be too scary.
