Week in Review..

Our first day of spring break was St. Patricks Day, we weren't planning on doing anything but our neighbor called and invited us to go to Fountain Hills because they turn the fountain green. We decided that it sounded like fun so we packed up a lunch and drove on up there. This was what the fountain looked like when we got there, we weren't too impressed with the shade of green, but the sheer size of the fountain was amazing!! Shoots up to 536 feet high!! It was like watching Old Faithful, it was awesome.
The fountain goes off for about 10 minutes on the hour, so the next hour it shot up like this!! We were amazed! It was like the Wicked Witch from the West had used her magic on it. It was a sight to see for sure:) We had dinner over at the same neighbors house, it's an annual tradition she makes the yummy corned beef and cabbage.

Abby loves this cute rattle that my mom gave as a present to Haley when she was first born.
I can't believe that my Abby babby is 8 months old! She is rolling like crazy now, but still doesn't go too far which makes me happy. She's starting to get up on her knees and then does a little push up with her arms, she also likes to flap around like a fish which is hilarious. She's a very happy baby, loves to smile at people she knows, if she doesn't know you though and you hold her, watch out! She is very stranger anxious right now. She is starting to babble a little bit which is really cute. She also laughs at everything Jacob does, even if he is just walking behind us, she thinks he's hilarious. It's cute!
I used a bunch of credits that I had with Amazon to get this heart rate monitor watch, I love it because it accurately counts my calories when I work out and since I'm obsessed with counting calories right now, this works great for me!
We put Abby in a real swing for the first time, I was very nervous about it but she did great and loved it.

Rick took a few days off and so one day we rented a little surrey boat to toodle around Tempe Town Lake in, the kids each took a turn driving it and we had fun.

Abby loved it!

We also took a hike up to the Hole in the Rock which is right by the zoo. I've always wanted to do this hike and it turns out that it's only about a 2 minute hike. I was so bummed! It was fun to actually do it though.

Then Rick took the kids on a real hike to Silly Mountain. They had fun.

This is a picture that Haley took of Abby on her bed. Super cute!

Rick also took the kids bowling and rock climbing. It was a fun stay-cation. We were all grateful for the break.

Week in Review..

This week was full of babysitting, taking care of dogs and spending lots of time outside. Here is Abby loving her blanket that her Aunt Becca made for her...
Jacob had a reptile man come to visit, you can see Jacob isn't too sure about this...he said that he loved it though.
Haley took a hike with her young women class, she has a great group of girls in her age group. She also was able to go to the Temple to perform baptisms last night for the first time with some of these girls, they had a great time.

Week in Review...

I've discovered a huge love of carrots! I love them steamed and raw, but I especially love them roasted with a little olive oil and Italian Seasoning, yum!
I had to get this picture because Jacob NEVER watches TV, so he was actually enthralled with Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang which is one of my favorites! Yes, they like to sit super close to the television, even though I tell them countless times to scoot back.
All of the kids were wearing their shirts that my family made them on their vacation to Tahoe that we missed out on, so I had to get pics!

Dr. Seuss' birthday is always a big deal!
Ashlyn had a poetry party where her whole class read a poem that they had written. It was the cutest! Ashlyn started off by dedicating her poem to her baby sister Abigail, so super sweet!!

Week in Review...

Jacob had a kindergarten, Way out West program on Thursday night. It was very cute!

Here's Jacobs class with his cute teacher...
He got to sit around the campfire for the last song...
We carpool with this little boy and he has the biggest personality! Such a cutie, here he is singing with his dad.
On Friday our neighborhood had a huge block party with a bounce house and cotton candy, hot dogs, pinata, the kids were in heaven!

Abby figured out the sad face this week:(. This picture gets me every time!! It's like a little puppy dog, you just can't stand the cuteness!
Today we went to the dedication of the Gilbert Temple, it was wonderful. Some of the statistics that they said about the temple are that there are 400,000 members living in Arizona and more than 400k toured through the temple during the Open House. There are 42 sealings scheduled in the first week of opening and 100 sealings scheduled through March with 258 sealings scheduled out! That's a lot of weddings! It was neat to be able to participate in another dedication, so far I have participated in the Nauvoo, Gila Valley and Gilbert Temple dedications. I'm trying to remember if they broadcast the Draper Temple to us when we were in Utah, but I can't remember. It's a neat experience, one that I will never forget.
Here's Abby laughing..
