Ashlyn is loving her job! She say's its the best job ever! We are thrilled that she's thriving. She says that she's tired, but that's to be expected from working 6 days a week/8 hours a day. Every day is a late night and sometimes she has to open the store the next day. She's taking some beautiful pics, and exploring some amazing places!
Abby got invited to a Diamondbacks game with her friend the night before we left for Girls Camp...they had a great time! The Diamondbacks even won!
On Tuesday Abby and I drove with our ward to Lake Powell to start our Girls Camp adventure! Our first thing we had to do was set up 3 tents that we had never set up before. The girls did great at pitching in to help and even though it was hot, we got them set up relatively quickly. Then we hopped back in the car to drive to the hike to horseshoe bend. It was hotter than we were expecting, so the hike was tough with no shade but the view was worth it!
We did a service project of tying blankets for a local hospital...
Then the girls decorated tote bags and made charm bracelets, we also got to learn a line dance!
The next day we went to the beach for a few hours while the girls swam in the lake, wrote gratitude letters, did yoga and paddle boarded. It was a great morning!
Then we got to go boating and try wake surfing! It was a lot of fun! I got up on the wake board after 5 tries! The girls were so brave and cheering each other on, it was great to see. Abby was afraid to try anything but finally decided that she would ride the knee board like a boogie board. A few minutes after the boat started going, she got up on her knees. She said that she was saying, Doubt not, Fear not in her head to give her the courage to get up on her knees. That was our scripture for camp! We all cheered for her!
It was extra special being there with my Abby girl for her first year of girls camp...
That night was Bishops night and it was my favorite night, we started out playing a game and then we all shared 1 high and 1 low from the week and then we all shared something that we believed in. The spirit was very strong. Then we had pie, it was yummy!

The next day we got up early for a morning devotional and then we hit the road to return home. The next day Jacob was welding his windshield visor in the garage and it smelled really smokey. He finished and came in to get a drink and rest. I got on the treadmill and then suddenly had a thought that he should move his car. I yelled to Jacob to move his car out of the garage and as soon as he opened the door, the smoke alarm went off. He had placed the welder back in it's box which was on top of one of my books and even though it was unplugged it wasn't cooling down so it lit the book on fire. He picked up the book to move it out of the garage, but it was in flames and too hot so he had to throw it. It then hit the wall, but he was able to kick it out of the garage and douse the flames. We are so grateful that the damage wasn't more than the wall and my book and a dirt biking jacket. It could've been a lot worse. Grateful for the prompting to move the car, otherwise the flames would've been moving fast. God is watching over us....

We put the tool and the book in a bucket of water...
It was a beautiful week full of great memories, miracles and fun. We are so grateful! Abby and I both shared our testimonies in church today, it was Abby's first time. She was so brave! We are grateful for these opportunities to grow closer to our Savior.
